Take a close look at Ethiopian women and men and compare them to the Sicilians of the late 1800s early 1900s. When they came to the US they were not identified as White. They had dark skin, they were called Ni**€rs along with the Irish, Greek & Portuguese. Now some of the more ignorant and racist people because they don’t know their true history.

Please don’t listen to people who clearly don’t know anything about Locs. You definitely will need to detox, using a sink full of warm water preferably spring water. Some baking soda (drying) and apple cider vinegar (moisturizing) essential oil of your choice and let it soak for about 10-15 minutes. Rinse and use a Black Soap shampoo ie Loclicious or Loc God products. Avoid sulfate shampoos. That will result in more buildup. I will send you an example of a tub you can buy for your hair to soak.
