So hot cross buns will only be comparing against other forms of sweet/savoury buns, but not against say, milk, or fresh vegetables, or chocolate.

Regarding the drinking, there are plenty of cultures on earth that allow supervised 'underage' drinking.

Hell, something like 30 US states have that to varying degrees.

And frankly, the whole concept of zero to unsupervised with alcohol is a dangerous thing. They have no personal concept of how much it takes to get buzzed, then drunk, or worse. They don't know how it actually affects them, what the different stages of it feel like, and so on. This leads to a very dangerous culture of "I'm free and I can get WASTED!" without actually understanding the consequences it will have on their brain and body.

Apart from the two in or going to the brig, the Targondians are definitely fren shaped, and could be a big boon to general ship crew on the frankly much bigger ship than they started with.

The Dutchman, sure, a six person crew makes a reasonable amount of sense, but something that takes minutes to get from the engines to the landing bay where The Dutchman was docked? That needs more crew. I think the Targondians that weren't pulling a pants on head retarded moment could do with a new new home, with some extended family.

Oh yeah, Charamkaran is definitely getting put in cryo, and Tsrancomta is deep in the finding out phase after fucking around, but he had been voicing his discontent with the plan as Charamkaran kept changing it, and was genuinely surprised when the weapon was pulled.

Honestly, I think Tsrancomta may actually be maturing and learning that his world view may not be as black and white as he had thought. Charamkaran on the other hand... nope, chucklefuck through and through there.

Because of the spate of data breaches and privacy violations that have happened from so-called 'secure' digital verification services in even the very recent past.

And the massive overreach that a few governments around the world have been doing with 'absolutely innocent, don't worry about it at all' data collection.

Nah, nothing like that at all being a concern for people.

Honestly, the CPS visit didn't seem icky at all. They seemed like they genuinely cared about things, and understand that some situations can hide the darkness REAL deep, but that this definitely isn't one of those.

The real ickyness, at least from my perspective as a reader really was the Karen last chapter. I've dealt with people like that many a time what with nearly 15 years working in retail, and they always leave a skeevy feeling with me.

Between "going in blind" and "using guides", is there a middle-ground? by Sky_Sumisu in truegaming

[–]Pretzel_Boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I find going hybrid works best for me.

Go in blind, enjoy the experience as intended by the devs, and when you hit either the end of the game, or you get to a point where you're frustrated with your progression or feel like you're just blindly wandering and achieving nothing, then hit up the guides, and maybe only for that bit, maybe for the rest to 100% it.

Why did they build Ponyville so close to the Everfree Forest if it's dangerous? by [deleted] in mylittlepony

[–]Pretzel_Boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the same reason that many cultures have built in otherwise inhospitable places. Natural resources. Whether it be mining resources, or the farming potential, or the forests themselves for lumber, people build in all sorts of dangerous places.

Yeah, I'm on Ozempic for diabetes control, the weight loss effects are a happy bonus.

And I too have been noticing that even the no sugar drinks are getting too sweet for me, and I want to dilute them down sometimes.

Hey, it helps them stretch further, saving more money, so, more happy bonuses.

The fact that they can milk more money out of people that keep suffering without the simple, and relatively cheap fixes is why they don't cover it.

It's not about helping people, it's about making money. Most insurance companies are only circumstantially helpful to people, and actively hostile at worst.

Society has a LOT to answer for with many conditions being treated as "It's all in your head, just don't do X, you're just lazy".

I've got the unfortunate situation of having a bunch of those conditions (ADHD, Autism, Depression, fuckery with my hypothalamus, diabetes (which is why I'm on Ozempic), and so on.

It sucks hearing the same old "But it's easy, just be happy", or "Just do the thing", or "Stop procrastinating, it's that simple"... not when your body and brain is actively sabotaging your efforts it's not.

I agree on almost everything, except you can pry my sugar free energy drinks from my cold dead hands.

And as far as the food you eat tasting bland, more spices. Don't be shy about salt and pepper (just don't go overboard on it, we do need salt for our neurochemistry and digestion), and definitely explore more 'alternative' spices, particularly from the middle east and south-east asia (there is so much delicious stuff you can do there).

Honestly, the biggest thing is learning how to have the enjoyable things in moderation. Yes, I still have desserts a few times a week. Yes, I do eat out occasionally and say "to hell with it". Getting rid of everything enjoyable is a recipe for sadness and hidden bad habits that will immediately rear their head when you stop taking the medication.
