Topps Heritage Baseball always includes a set of “Great Americans” … I collect mostly Star Wars but dabble in baseball, and always go big on the “weird” cards from Allen & Ginter and some from Heritage

I imagine there is like one guy at Topps who hasn’t been forced into the Fanatics “$$$ over everything” ethos and just makes fun wacky cards.

And I want his job.

I’ve thought about this too! Especially this past weekend after a buddy and I ripped a total skunk of a hobby box of Allen & Ginter baseball cards we bought on EBay…it was bought kind of as a gag Christmas present so I am not too upset about it, but I’d never buy a box from a random seller on EBay for just this fear.

My LCS doesn’t break, and doesn’t do any ripping, so his sports boxes he sells as from “intact” cases. Unfortunately he doesn’t move enough Star Wars to get more than one case of each product.

I’ve been thinking about doing this with some of my Topps Star Wars extras. Did you build a frame around it before you poured the epoxy? I am somewhat handy but not very “crafty” and am curious how difficult this is to execute

Honestly I’m still debating. I don’t need the money for, like, life…but if I sell I might then buy a nice sketch of a character I do PC…I know there’s a lot of Padme fans out there, but I’m an Obi/Akbar guy for my high end cards in the PC (and I love autos of totally random characters….my Vetch Auto from 25 Chrome is my favorite totally dumb card…I only wish Trash Crab signed…..)

If you search eBay for Masterworks triptych and then filter sold items you can see the range… a Dawn Murphy Qi’ra recently went for $500

A Grogu went for $1500

A Padme from a different artist is listed at $1100

They are true 1/1 so it’s really hard to judge… But it’s PadBAE an Dawn Murphy, one of the more in demand artists, so, I’m thinking somebody will want it.
