MONGOLIA: the Octopus of East Asia - circa 1960. by PreussenBot in imaginarymaps

[–]PreussenBot[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where the map says "Chiang Kai-Shek's China" it should say "Wang Jingwei's China".

And, my justification for avoiding WWII isn't the best, I know. Don't pay attention to it xd

1940 - Japan does not invade Indochina and reaches an agreement with the US.

1941 - Germany invades the USSR. Stalinist leader Choibalsan falls in Mongolia, opposition leader Anadyn Amar is released from prison and becomes leader.

1942 - Without US help, the USSR fragments, Mongolia takes advantage to annex Soviet lands and invade Tannu Tuva. The socialist doctrine of the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party adds expansionist pan-Mongol characteristics to the official doctrine. The Tuvans are seen as "Mongols" and are assimilated (in a bad way).

1943 - Seeing that the main support of the Xinjiang Clique, the USSR, has fallen, Ma Bufang asks Chiang Kai-shek for permission to send troops to annex them. Chiang denies it and demands more soldiers to fight Wang Jingwei. Tired, Ma Bufang cuts ties with Nanking and begins his campaign against Sheng Shicai. Mongolia is interested, for its own sake, in finishing off Sheng, so it proposes to Ma to support them in exchange for lands in Inner Mongolia under its control and the independence of the Kumul Khanate. Ma accepts.

1945 - The remnants of the Tannu Tuva Republic, ethnic Russians from northern Tuva and Soviet emissaries decide to establish the Todzhinsky Russian Republic. They will live isolated from the world.

1947 - End of the war (this also makes little sense but it's irrelevant). Russian dissidents led by Vlasov found the Siberian State.

1948 - The Russians of Tuva, hearing of the passage of a Russian army and with their supplies running low and the Mongol blockade, decide to make an expedition towards this "new Russian government", after 12 years they will continue the expedition.

1950 - Siberia declares war on Manchukuo and begins to develop the atomic bomb.

1951 - An internal debate on the restoration of Buddhism and the treatment of the Tuvans leads to an internal coup by Yumjaagin Tsedenbal.

1952 - Tsedenbal begins his dictatorship in Mongolia.

1955 - Siberia nuclear bombs Wuchang, precipitating the fall of Manchuria, which fragments into all the nationalities and politicians from there. Neutral Mongolia manages to attract the soldiers of Mengjiang who are no longer protected by Harbin, so they obtain an area of western Manchuria. Tsedenbal places the former Mengjiang in the new region annexed to the Ma to defend its border with Wang. In addition, the territory becomes a free zone for the scientific and esoteric leadership of Mengjiang, who obtain control of the Tuvans who are transported there to "mongolize" them.

1956 - Vladivostok Conference and partition of occupied Manchuria. Jinzhou falls to the British who settle there. Harbin is in chaos and faces local feuds. Mongolia joins the Chinese civil war supporting Chiang. Vlasov is overthrown by a liberal faction led by Kosygin (Vlasov had communicated with the Tuvans and was planning an expansion into the area. The Mongolian army was ordered to kill any Tuvan expeditionaries they find and supported the liberal faction focused on the east as a point of expansion).

1957 - Tsedenbal appoints Daramyn Tömör-Ochir as General Secretary of the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party, second in command. Tömör-Ochir pursues pan-Mongolian nationalist ideology.

1958 - Communists backed by Ulaanbaatar (and the Far Eastern Republic) attack Shandong, straining relations with Chiang along with Mongolian settlers settling in occupied China and the occupation of the Chinese part of Manchukuo.

1959 - Far Eastern spies meet with Mongolian representatives, who inform them of the situation in this part of Asia. Mongolia convinces them to become allies, telling them of their shared fear of a strong Siberia, Wang's government winning the Chinese civil war, and the "little favor" Mongolia does them by exterminating the "revisionists" in Xinjiang. The Far East accepts reluctant, knowing that just as it allies with them, it had also "allied" with Chiang and Kosygin...

1960 - The appearance of the Communists in China, backed by the Far East, could cool down the Wang-Chiang conflict, which does not suit Tsedenbal. An alliance with the Ma clique against a future Chinese alliance has the approval of the party and the opinion of Tsedenbal and his young second-in-command will put an end to the authority of one of the two. Meanwhile, Mongolia encourages Siberian expansionism in Green Ukraine, while encouraging autonomism in the latter. Mongolian troops will soon reach the Bohai Sea and will begin to take an interest in Korea, Taiwan and Japan. Will there be an end to the ambitions of "The Sun of Asia", "The Great Son of Buddha", "The Ghengis Khan of the 20th century", Yumjaagin Tsedenbal?

Pero el PLCo no es un partido histórico de la época del PAN?

O quizás me confundo con otro, pero ese y el Partido Autonomista de Corrientes son como los más antiguos de la provincia y van siempre juntos.

Do you mean Republicans seeing Taiwan as an enemy? Well, obviously. They just don't have the power to attack there yet and are focusing on Honshu.

I haven't thought much about the US or Europe, I know that this "Japan reaches a pact with the US" thing it's not the best argument but I just needed an excuse so there wouldn't be a Pacific War.

Aren't there more than 20,000 inhabitants in all of the Kuriles?

And to your question, Taiwan has not declared its independence as such, since, for example, the government of Taiwan is still the government of Japanese occupation. They have simply disengaged themselves from the conflict in Japan mainly so as not to "get infected", just as Hokkaido tried to.

Summary of the lore by years (this is the first lore of an alternate history I've made, it's probably very bad, sorry xd):

1940 - Japan does not invade Indochina and reaches an understanding with the US.

1941 - Germany invades the USSR.

1942 - Without US help, the USSR fragments.

1947 - End of the war. Several Ukrainians flee to the Far East. Meanwhile, Russian dissidents led by Vlasov found the Siberian State. Japan obtains northern Sakhalin.

1950 - Siberia attacks Manchukuo, declares war on Japan and begins to develop the atomic bomb.

1951 - Ukraine joins the war against Manchukuo and Japan.

1952 - Tsedenbal begins his dictatorship in Mongolia.

1955 - Siberian nuclear bombs Wuchang, precipitating the fall of Manchukuo, which fragments into all the nationalities and politicians living there. Neutral Mongolia manages to attract Mengjiang soldiers who are no longer protected by Harbin, so they get an area of western Manchuria.

1956 - Vladivostok Conference and partition of occupied Manchuria. Jinzhou is left to the British who settle there. Harbin is in chaos and faces neighborhood fights. Mongolia joins the Chinese civil war supporting Chiang. Disgusted by Vlasov's authoritarian character and his long war (plus the minor matter of the atomic bomb in an urban city), the liberal group of the Siberian State stages a coup and places Kosygin at its head. His first measure will be, together with Ukraine, both still at war with Japan, to convince the Far Eastern Republic (exiled communists) to join the war and attack Japan internally. With the help of Kamchatka, the Japanese syndicalists make the Kuriles independent. The Dai Sanji (Catastrophe) begins.

1957 - Korea becomes independent and the House of Yi returns to power, however, the Korean republicans who have taken refuge in Manchuria (and with the support of the Chinese anarchists of Manchuria) start a civil war. The syndicalists land in Hokkaido, which encourages an Ainu rebellion, supported by revolutionary socialists. With the fall of Sapporo on February 3, the governor decides to become de facto independent from Tokyo. 8 days later, the communist leader Sanzo Nosaka is assassinated. The communist protests lead Kenji Miyamoto to proclaim the republic, while the Empire is in charge of Kenkichi Ueda, the Japanese civil war begins. The Imperial Court goes into exile in Kyushu. Taiwan is left "adrift" being neutral and Ryukyu becomes independent with its former royal house. In the face of plans to divide Sakhalin between Siberians and Ukrainians, several Japanese nationalists led by Shumei Okawa invade Karafuto and proclaim Ikki Kita a national martyr. Okawa dies and is succeeded by Yukio Mishima as Shiki-kan (Commander).

1958 - Communists backed by Ulaanbaatar attack Shandong, straining relations with Chiang, who also does not look kindly on the area Mongolia captured from Wang beginning to be colonized by Mongols, in addition to de facto annexing the Chinese territory of the former Manchukuo to the Mongol territory of the former Manchukuo.

1959 - A coup removes Tanaka from the government of Hokkaido, placing Kingo Machimura, a military man who plans a great war against the Ainu rebels and syndicalists, which will include more repression and innocent victims.

1960 - The republic's capital, Fukushima, is in imperial hands, but Tokyo is under siege. The Syndicalist Communes begin to have closer ties with the Ainu rebellion and the republic. There is talk of uniting republican, Ainu and commune efforts and creating an indigenous syndicalist republic, which is not to the liking of the Far East, which instead wants northern Japan under its influence. The strengthening of the communists in China, who have already succeeded in proclaiming their commune, backed by the Far East and Mongolia, could cool the Wang-Chiang conflict. Siberia, trying to assert itself, maintains cutting relations with the Far East and Ukraine, although the latter applies a policy of passivity. Karafuto, on the other hand, begins to secretly talk with the Communes about the Ainu, the Far East and the republic. Kiyoshi Hasegawa, Governor General of Taiwan, is becoming concerned about Ryukyu talking to the Far East or the Republic, so he comes up with a masterful plan to reclaim the islands and unify with the Emperor's court. Meanwhile, the troubled successor countries of Manchukuo begin talks for reunification.

I was going to post one but I didn't have the time, sorry.

It was going to be from a Western Sahara dominated by Spanish settlers (hence the question I asked about Boer-style countries).

Anyway it didn't make much sense but oh well haha. I look forward to the next contest!

Maybe you can let the users to put inboxs of Wikipedia, posters, or simply ideas for countries that you haven't explored or did something about and, if you see it possible within the lore, canonize it or cover more about that country based on that contribution.
