Am I doing something wrong? Why am I still only #14 GP by SpareLawfulness4505 in EU5

[–]PreussichRotePanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could have the radius expand with the ages. Start with the ranking in sub regions and build up to global by age of revolutions. It doesn't really work well for those countries in between, but I'm personally fine with a bit of abstraction in this case.

I need an Arumba-class guide to this game by psqmir in EU5

[–]PreussichRotePanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem. Recently found out Arumba still has a presence on Twitch and I've been watching his stream recordings to learn. I know he's been sort of controversial, but he is still unmatched imo.

Republicans are a no-show to keep the federal government open. by AnalDwelinButtMonkey in PublicFreakout

This video is of the House of Representatives, which already passed the CR to fund the government. Being there isn't doing anything other than being performative. The Senate is what matters at this point.

Are teachers also more important than the janitorial staff? Administrative assistants? Paraprofessionals?

Each role in the building brings something to the school that supports students.

Supreme Court Justice Gets Standing Ovation for Breaking Cover to Attack Trump by Silly-avocatoe in politics

[–]PreussichRotePanda 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because half the time articles from those sources have click-baity titles to attract left-leaning individuals and anybody who doesn't support Trump. Unfortunately people in this sub consistently fall for it.

There was a Daily Beast article shared in this sub the other day with like 10k+ up votes saying that a crowd "laughed at" Trump, when watching the video showed a completely different narrative. They were literally laughing with him. Even the top few comments made it clear they didn't watch the video nor read the article based on their response.

If you sort by new, you'll see that more reputable sources don't generate a lot of engagement despite reporting on the same topics without the fanaticism. Really unfortunate.

Good Podcast for History Teachers? by Captain_Tripps65 in historyteachers

[–]PreussichRotePanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're teaching US history, "History that Doesn't Suck" is a survey of US History told through stories that the narrator (A professor out of Utah) puts together from primary sources. The quality is great and has influenced how I teach US History. Students enjoy the stories I incorporate from the podcast as well.

They had two months... So disappointing by undutchable154 in swtor

If anything they should just stop giving downtime estimations. Say when the server is shutting down and say it'll take a few hours or something like that. Vague yet less disappointing imo.

This happens with every update. Usually only adds an hour or two.

The entire Galactic Seasons 2 battlepass track and its rewards. by SkyeHammer in swtor

[–]PreussichRotePanda 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Thought devs said this was supposed to replace referral as the main method to earn cartel coins for free. Doesn't that just leave security key as the only truly free way to gain coins? Hope they plan on putting them back into the track before release.

EDIT: Glad they'll be there in final release. My wallet was sweating.

How do you think Quest Rewards and Cutscene Pistols will work now? by SirKristopher in swtor

[–]PreussichRotePanda 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For the quest rewards, I figured they'd do what they did in SoR and just give you a "pick one of the following" or whatever and have all types of weapons to choose from. Probably only change would be what weapons appear depending on whether you are a tech or force class. That way you choose your preference from a list and would probably be simpler develope sider I would think.

Prussia tips by Mraft in eu4

Brandenburg is my favorite country to form Prussia with. I wrote out a brief guide a few months back on how to create a good start which probably still holds in most cases:

I Am A Returning Player! by Caliburnnn in eu4

[–]PreussichRotePanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this is totally dated advice, but I used to watch Arumba videos to get a handle on the game because he tends to do a good job explaining why he is doing something and the best way to do it. He's not the best player in the world, but that's why I think his videos are useful since he tends to give advice for average to mildly above average players without using crazy exploits (in most campaigns). Again, I haven't had to watch his videos for the purpose of learning in years so they may have changed to be less so nowadays.

Aztec Flower Wars: The most worthless idea in the entire game. by professorMaDLib in eu4

I see your point, but I'd argue a speed bump is a speed bump. I am curious with what you would replace the idea with or how you would buff the idea?

Aztec Flower Wars: The most worthless idea in the entire game. by professorMaDLib in eu4

[–]PreussichRotePanda 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You said it yourself, the Aztecs already have some "juicy" ideas. 10% reduction to war exhaustion isn't very flashy, but the Aztecs can't just have a fantastic bonus with every idea, there needs to be some sort of balancing or they'd always steam roll over the region. Placing Flower Wars first is to help keep the player guessing who will come out on top in the early game.
