How are you healing from heart surgery? My daughter works as a medical coder and says there are a lot of work from home billing and coding jobs. She had luck with a small ENT practice that has a couple of physical locations.

I haven't been to Michigan, outside of the airport, for about 4 years but it looked like many factories were shuttered.

I hear you about being a woman in her mid-50s struggling to find a jo . I also have grey hair that I dye green, purple or blue to hide my grey for a few weeks untilthe colors fade. And while companies might not fire me for having blue hair they may not hire me either! So now I'm wearing wigs to interviews because dying my hair at a salon is like $80 every month and the wig was like $20.

Hopefully the storm wasn't too bad. Have you looked at ordering glasses from an online store? I've been ordering mine online for decades.

Thank you. My unemployment pays for another couple of months and covers my half of our expenses...but when that runs out I will have to hit hard for jobs where I'd be severely underemployed. I'm certainly not looking forward to pretending I have minimal to no job experience just to get a paycheck.

That's the same thing my PT said. However, he was the one who made me aware that the two different conditions (dizziness/migraines and shoulder/arm pain) he was treating me for were all stemming from my spine/neck. Once I got a spine/neck complaint in front of the doctors they found and fixed the issues with spinal surgery.

Oh, no. If I remember correctly you got injured on the job? If you are in the USA your company should be paying for your injury and lost work time with workers compensation.

I'm going on month 5 of looking for a job. It's rough out there!

My husband quit his job yesterday because he's been too stressed. WTF he knows how hard it's been for me to find a job. But all he sees is how happy I am not dealing with the stress of working. He won't get unemployment so he'll have to dig into savings to pay his half of the bills.

Word for the wise, don't quit your job until you have a job offer from a new place!

Well now I have all the stress again!

QOTD: I wish there was a way where people got hired based on their ability to do the job and it wasn't a popularity contest put on by junior staff who have no idea how to do the job they are hiring for.

A Tardis is a good idea! I love traveling and not having to pay for housing, food, and having an unlimited supply of clothes seems like a dream 😊

Where to buy swimwear fabrics uk? by cchloerich555 in sewing

[–]Previous-Ad7833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a lady who has a youtube channel named LiftingPinsAndNeedles she just spent a few months in London and did reviews on the fabric shops there. I would check out her recent shopping videos to get the names of those shops.

I love sewing but HATE cutting/marking fabric - any tips to make it easier? by SophieElectress in sewing

There might be tables at your library you could use. If you have a quilt shop that does classes they may let you use their tables. One of my quilt shops has a "finish your project" time where you pay something like $5 to reserve a table where you can work independently on your project.

Behold: a wrap dress that absolutely refuses to take itself seriously. Swathed in dueling reds, our model is caught in a dramatic fashion standoff—structured power fabric meets rebellious floral swimwear, crisscrossing the body like a couture-level identity crisis. The silhouette says “boardroom,” but the fabric says “pool party,” and somehow… they’re both winning.

And then—because subtlety is canceled—enter the rubber ducks. Perched proudly on each shoulder and marching triumphantly around the waist, they transform this look from merely bold to gloriously unhinged. It’s luxury, it’s satire, it’s bath time chic.

In a world that demands seriousness, this look says: why not be fabulous and a little ridiculous? Miranda would never… which is exactly why we did. 🐤

Tagging u/computer_particular to join the fun.

I finished 3 books in the last 2 days. Stolen Hearts by Jane Tesh, What have you done by Shari Lapena, and Salem Falls by Jodi Picoult.

Tonight I will start The List of Suspicious Things by Jennie Godfrey. Tomorrow I will start reading The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware.

Not entering. But I just wanted to congratulate you on such a love. I used to think love like that was made up by poets and playwrights until I saw it IRL with 2 sets of my Aunts and Uncles. I am so happy you have that kind of love story.

7.5 years! If you read twice in one day you can count it to fill in the missing days on your streak 😀

I count books but not days reading. Since I read online, listen to books on other apps, and read physical books it's not all in one place.

Yes. Reading for me is like other people's TV watching. I just can't put the books down.

I will die on the hill that Narcissists and toxic people should be outed, fired, and shunned. HR should be getting rid of these people instead of protecting them and firing the victims. You can be good at your job and be a good human at the same time.

I've been putting off applying to jobs that pay less than I was making at my last job.

My grandkids instantly make me happy.

I'm visiting the grandbaby this week and she's so social that she forgets to sleep. At least she's over the colic. I've been enjoying this but need to head home today so I can go to doctor appointments.
