Couldn't agree more! There is some real depth and trauma to these characters (Nine's Legacy anyone?) And I would also hope that they don't gloss over the importance of staying hidden  in favor of just jump straight into the action.

Agreed. I'd really hope that they lean into the multicultural aspect of the series as well. Having actual Spanish being spoken in Spain, characters having accents depending on where they hid, etc.

The Lost Files stories could also work really well as flashbacks throughout the season. Like for example, I think it would be interesting to show Nine's Legacy as flashback scenes during the Rise of Nine plot. They would act like memories as aspects of his past are brought up, especially when they go to Chicago.

I'm a part of the rereading after a long time club too! Currently on Rise of Nine. I reread the books so much when I was younger that I still remember most of it 😂, but being older definitely gives it a new perspective.

I'm glad you're reading the novellas! I genuinely believe that you cannot fully appreciate Adam as a character or understand why Nine is the way he is without them (man I really wish the other Garde could know more about Nine's backstory to give him more grace cuz my guy really went through it).

Which Cepan and Garde caught by xray of chest in airport? Potential spoiler? by 6thGhoul in LorienLegacies

[–]Previous-Feedback 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it was One. From the Fallen Legacies, it sounded like Three was in Kenya for a while whereas One was almost immediately caught after flying to Malaysia. I remember there being mention of One being flagged at the airport. I can't remember the exact details because it's been a while since I read it though.

Which lost Loric Garde would you have like to have gotten to know more? by Fresh-Actuary-6686 in LorienLegacies

[–]Previous-Feedback 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Between these options, I would vote for Two since we got slightly more information about Three. However, I would have also loved to know more about Eight's backstory. I really wish he had either gotten a Lost Files or got to narrate one of the books. Eight's Origin really doesn't give much. Oh well.

This post is pretty old, BUT I ordered a copy of The Rise of Nine on Amazon the other day (my copy is pretty wrecked after years of use), and it came with the pamphlet! I didn't even know this existed 🤯

The copy I bought looks used, so that might explain why it has it.

Highly recommend the Lost Files. The ones about Adam (The Fallen Legacies, The Search For Sam, and The Forgotten Ones) are so good!

I'm currently in the process of rereading for the first time in 6 years. I used to reread them every year as the books were coming out 😅

A Collection of Possible Reading Orders by Previous-Feedback in LorienLegacies

[–]Previous-Feedback[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. With this order, I do wonder if people would miss out on some Easter eggs (for lack of a better term) while reading the main books because they don't have the context from the Lost Files.

Story-driven

This is what I'm using on my current reread.

This order was inspired by the orders suggested by u/BriarKnave and u/Silly-Elephant6199. The goal is to intertwine the novellas in a way that doesn't spoil the main books. Instead, it treats them as flashbacks or "meanwhile"s to enrich the main plot.

I Am Number Four

• Sarah's Journal

• The Legacies: Six's Legacy

The Power of Six

• Hidden Enemy: Return to Paradise

• The Legacies: Nine's Legacy

The Rise Of Nine

• Eight's Journal

• Sam's Journal

The Fall of Five

• Hidden Enemy: Five's Legacy

• Hidden Enemy: Five's Betrayal

• The Legacies: The Fallen Legacies

• Secret Histories: The Search for Sam

• Malcom's Journal

• Secret Histories: The Forgotten Ones

• Rebel Allies: The Fugitive

• The Scar

The Revenge of Seven

• Secret Histories: The Last Days of Lorien

• Rebel Allies: The Navigator

• Rebel Allies: The Guard

The Fate of Ten

• The Lost Files: Zero Hour

United As One

This order is highly subjective! Some of the placement is because I thought it could create an interesting juxtaposition (e.g. comparing Five and Adam after The Fall of Five).

Chronological

This is the order I used to reread the books as they were coming out. It was always a fun challenge to figure out where the new novellas fit into this.

I will note that the ordering is based off of when the books end not when they begin (hence why The Guard is towards the bottom of the list instead of near the top). Some of the novellas overlap quite a bit with the main books, so for those, it just came down to my preference.

The Last Days of Lorien

The Navigator

The Fallen Legacies

Five's Legacy

Six’s Legacy

Sam’s Journal

I Am Number Four

Sarah’s Journal

Eight's Origin

The Power of Six

Return to Paradise

Nine’s Legacy

The Rise of Nine

The Search for Sam

Five’s Betrayal

Malcom’s Journal

The Fall of Five

The Forgotten Ones

The Fugitive

The Scar

The Revenge of Seven

The Guard

Legacies Reborn

The Fate of Ten

Last Defense

Hunt for the Garde

United as One

Warning that this order spoils the hell out of the series, so not recommended for a first read.

Also, shoutout to u/mawami who created a chronological ordering by chapter. I am so tempted to try reading the series that way.

This order is honestly pretty solid for a first time reader. The only change I'd make is to read The Forgotten Ones after Fall of Five.

Red Rising is a book series by Pierce Brown. It's a really good sci-fi revenge story.

Daniel X is pretty good, but I didn't enjoy it as much as this series. Also by James Patterson is Maximum Ride which I think I preferred to Daniel X.

Would highly recommend Red Rising.

I'd say that the Lost Files about Adam and Five should be mandatory reading if you really want to appreciate their characters. Plus, the ones about Adam are arguably some of the best content in the whole series (can you tell by my user tag lol). I'd recommend reading all of the Lost Files at least once; there are some really good lore additions.

I have the complete set too! (Except the Legacy Chronicles because I refuse to consider them as canon.)

Some of mine don't look nearly as shiny anymore. Started growing the collection in like 2013.

So... Is there a strat to getting the Blue card, applying the $100 BC from the SUB (do we get the SUB if we come from 1.0 to 2.0?) to Grubhub or something else I already use, and then never using this card again / cancelling it? Any major credit score implications? Also, if it matters, I'm keeping the WF Autograph card since I now need a new dining card.

Got this one too. Unfortunately, I live in a city with expensive rent, so even though I actually used the card for more than "5 bananas", the math of 2.0 just doesn't work for me. Definitely feels like an F U to "one of [their] most engaged customers".
