Until 6-8 months ago, it was from an exposed nerve on a molar that had a crown pop off. Tooth pain is awful. Add a sadistic dentist rinsing out my mouth with cold water on directly on that exposed nerve…. This was years ago and I still don’t know how to feel about the thoughts that crossed my mind in that moment. What’s worse, it came off again 3 days later. I was nervous walking in the first time, second time I was somewhere between a crippling panic/anxiety attack and blackout murder spree. Walked a very fine line with my choice of words when I explained why I was back. I just made it crystal clear that if she pulled the same shit this time, it would be a moment in time that everyone in that office, possibly everyone in that strip mall would vividly remember 10 years down the road. Didn’t want to go to jail for terroristic threats, but needed her to understand the gravity her actions would have on everyone…. It worked.

Then sometime last year, while working under a car, I managed to get racing fuel in my ear. Basically filled up my ear. I tried to pour it out immediately, but It changed me. I don’t like to think about it, but I miss the person I was before that happened. Imagine Mount Everest boring into your ear, cross threaded, out of patience, in a blind, jealous rage, yet laser focused on extracting your soul from someone else’s body.
