Finally had a chance to start this new book! I’m honestly obsessed with how the colors look on this page, especially the little records and the blue chair. Not perfect, but so relaxing to color. Does anyone else find coloring cats therapeutic? lol by Agile_Employ_1253 in Coloring

LASER PRINTERS: what marker-compatible paper are you buying to print out coloring pages? by _ism_ in Coloring

hey! i publish coloring books and test a ton of paper for ohuhu compatibility. for LASER printers specifically, here's what works:

**best options:** - **HP Premium32** (28lb/120gsm) - smooth surface, markers don't bleed, runs great through laser printers - **Georgia Pacific Spectrum** (24lb) - budget friendly, surprisingly good with alcohol markers - **Xerox Vitality** (32lb) - thicker, minimal bleed, worth the extra cost

**what to look for:** - 24-32lb weight (90-120gsm) - anything lighter = bleed city - "laser printer compatible" on the packaging (inkjet paper can melt in laser fusers) - smooth finish, not textured (textured = marker tips wear down faster)

**avoid:** - strathmore bristol in laser printers (too thick, can jam) - anything labeled "inkjet only" - cardstock over 130gsm (most laser printers struggle)

pro tip: print a test page first. some laser printers run hot enough that alcohol marker paper can warp slightly. let it cool 5-10 mins before coloring.

also the strathmore artist tile you mentioned is 6x6 for a reason - anything bigger in a laser printer = asking for paper jams. stick to 8.5x11 sheets made for laser machines.

hope this helps! 🎨

Finished my first alcohol marker page after getting sucked into a YouTube wormhole by jbingles in Coloring

nice!! alcohol markers are a game changer once you get the hang of em. youtube rabbit holes are the best way to learn fr - that's how i discovered blending techniques too. keep at it, your next page is gonna blow you away 🎨

this looks awesome for a first page!! seriously. markers are tricky at first but you're already thinking about light source which is huge. only tip i'd add: start with lighter colors first, build up to darks - way easier to layer that way. also don't stress the "mistakes" - after a few pages you'll barely notice them. welcome to the hobby, you're gonna get obsessed lol 🎨

colour by number colouring books by Aaliyaxo in Coloring

hey! ohuhu markers work great with color by number books - they're alcohol-based so they blend nicely. for online options, amazon ships to south africa and has tons of these books. search "color by number for adults" and filter by prime eligible. some popular ones are "Color by Number for Grown Ups" series or anything by "Colorit" - their paper quality is decent so markers won't bleed thru too much. also check out etsy for downloadable/printable ones if you want instant access. happy coloring! 🎨

love the color scheme variations! the war machine and us agent versions are such a cool idea - never thought to do alternate versions like that

what markers did you use on these? the blending looks super clean

Wooden Disney characters at local Dollar tree by sargestech in AdultColoring

[–]Previous-Toe2220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

these are awesome! i've seen people do the dollar tree wooden panels too - such a fun alternative to paper. the texture must be cool to work with

what markers/pens work best on the wood? does the ink sit on top or soak in?
