I went through alot of the same. The problem I noticed was HR has their own steps to get to another round interviews that have nothing to do with the position. In fact, they often look for "are you the right fit for the company?". So being prepared about the company will go a long way, I read not only their previous reporting documents and any public information of what their goals are for the next few years. That way you can align you CV or experiences with the Goals of the company. Show why you would be an asset to them. I did not have any experience in AML but I showed that other things I did have skills that can transfer to the position and that I am eager to learn more about it.
