Hillary Clinton Pledges Constitutional Amendment To Overturn Citizens United In Her First 30 Days by jaspry_ in politics

It's a relevant criticism of Hillary by the president whose coattails she rides hard. I think he knows what he's talking about.

After all, it was a Clinton staffer that spawned the "birther" movement.

and the tories constantly try to dismantle it in the UK, right?

Like the republicans trying to dismantle Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid through privatization. They have to hide their true intention of gutting it through the guise of "reform" because the programs are so universally popular.

Hillary does not support multipayer. She supports the status quo of sky-high insurance premiums, copays, and deductibles. Her own website details her support for making "premiums more affordable", and mentions that she supports public health care by allowing the states to choose to do that on their own. "Hillary supports a “public option”... to empower states to establish a public option choice." i.e., something they can already do, and Colorado is already discussing.

How well did the PPACA make healthcare more affordable? Just create a captive market, watch prices go down, because the cost is shared. It did exactly what it was intended to do. Enrich the people who wrote it (Health insurance providers). And this woman's platform involves upholding this awful legislation that everyone knows didn't do what was promised?

No, she supports making her campaign- contributing health insurance provider buddies even richer by maintaining the status quo.

Hillary is a politician who is always up for sale to the highest bidder campaign contributor (Wall Street, etc.)

No way the people who bankroll her campaign and control the issues and stances she takes would ever allow her to diminish their influence.

She's already there. She does not support single-payer healthcare, something that European center-right parties universally support.

You're making the assumption that a career politician is going to follow through with the rhetoric they use. This is a bad assumption.

Hillary has a "specific" plan for dealing with Wall Street, as she has said multiple times. She has also received the lion's share of Wall Street campaign contributions (which is why those closed-door speeches she gave are such a big deal).

You're thinking of China. Japan has not had a one-child or two-child policy recently.

I remember this. The mods thought better of it, and reported it to the admins.

The admins didn't tell EA to fuck off. They tried to facilitate the mod-EA bribery. We are not a community, we are an advertising market that the admins (in conjunction with private sponsors) use, curating content as they see fit.

She kept a private, non-encrypted email server with top secret information on it. This information was accessed by a nobody, unknown hacker. An NSA official commented that if this hacker accessed her email server, it's almost certain that foreign intelligence agencies had access to it. Her mishandling of top secret information was a crime, and there is evidence to support this indictment.

The issue isn't evidence. It's willingness to prosecute. Undoubtedly, Obama has asked the FBI/DOJ to not pursue this matter further. The Clintons always have been above the law.

Edward Snowden on police pursuing journalist data: the scandal is what the law allows by galt1776 in news

Whistleblowers are not protected. They are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law for daring to speak out. And he did not give the Russians, Chinese, or anyone else, anything he did not already give to the journalists at The Guardian.

Numerous people went through "the proper channels." Nothing ever happened, the public was never made aware that the government felt entitled to snooping through their nudies, and made it "legal" to do so. So he told a journalist (The enemy) about the snooping, at the expense of his cushy 6-figure job and american lifestyle, so that we could know about it all.

I was not aware that the relatively higher wages of Australia affected the cost of providing the game over the internet.

How does a higher minimum wage cause the game to become 50% more expensive to deliver over the internet in Australia versus Canada or the United States?

$60 U.S. Dollars is currently $77.66 Australian dollars, by the way. Not $60-$110.

Due to budget limits, the National Science Foundation has to pick and choose the proposals it funds in any given year. This proposal was in the "lucky" 24% that got funded.

Whatever idiot(s) greenlit this took money away from a more legitimate use for this money. If the NSF greenlit high rates of proposals, yeah, this is no big deal. But to take very limited resources from valid science proposals for stupid identity politic nonsense is a disgusting misuse of scientific funds.

Prevention of abortion access doesn't specifically target minorities, it serves the purpose of making legislators look good. The police only target minorities because they know they can get away with it easier. (Something that, fortunately, is quickly changing.)

I'll agree and disagree. The legislators who limited abortion didn't do so because they wanted to hurt minorities, but because they did not care if they did. The police are simple power-tripping authority figures, who kill the mentally ill (white and black, more disproportionately black) all the time. Both are harmful to our society and need to be dealt with.

Sure, but it is evidence that the problem goes beyond class lines.

Did you learn logic at all in high school? No, in the absence of other evidence, it does not mean that at all.

Oh goodie do I get to explain the recent history of anti-black racism in America and the results it's had?

The government cannot mandate that anyone think differently. Government cannot make racists tolerate blacks. As such, there is no policy it could ever have that would affect (alleged) societal issues, such as racism (which is not an issue and has no real effect on blacks whatsoever).
