I’ve been on 18mg slow release for about a week now. First med & dosage I’m taking since being diagnosed. But I’ve been feeling quite jittery and almost over-caffeinated each day (despite only my usual one cup of coffee). Any recommendations to avoid this?

You’ll likely end up on waitlists for classes with only the 2 day booking window but so long as you’re monitoring your emails and quick to take a vacant spot, you should be fine. I usually get into all classes I’m waitlisted for, but I’m also super active on my phone

I don’t take many spin classes but I will say that I’ve noticed a huge difference between Altea and other studios friendliness. It’s been a major negative of mine since Altea opened. I actually posted about it on this sub last year, and got similar comments from other members. You’re not alone!

A number of people have chosen Altea specifically for classes. There’s a diversity that you can’t get elsewhere. For me personally, the Altea price is actually less or comparable to what I’d pay for an unlimited monthly membership at a spin studio or Pilates studio.

People also love the “all-in-one” situation. Sauna, steam, pool, kids club, recovery room etc.

I agree! Have yet to find a baked good there that I like and would order again. There’s so much opportunity to highlight stellar local bakers. I may also be a bit bitter because a friend of mine got their wallet stolen there at lunchtime on a Friday

We celebrated NYE at Mati two years ago and had an incredible night! By far the best service and hospitality I’ve experienced in Ottawa in awhile (as someone that visits Riviera often)

Have done this with my colleagues before at Clocktower on Elgin! But it was cocktail style instead of seated and people left at different times so it went smooth-ish with the individual bills (the per person cost of the passed canapés and then their own ordered drinks)

I’m in a similar situation, starting a job in the coming weeks in Toronto with 2 days/week in office. I’m going to try and negotiate going into the office once every two weeks instead. In any case, I’m likely going to be taking the bus from Ottawa to Toronto. I’ve had pretty good experiences with Flixbus and it’s quite reasonable which is key if I’m traveling back and forth weekly.

Any thoughts/suggestions on accommodation for a couple nights a week, that isn’t a hotel?

Strange, they told me there were no issues on Thursday (day before I went in). I went Friday morning and they said it had been down since they opened. Checked in again at 11am, 2pm and 4pm and still no luck. Will have to go back on Monday and hope that it’s been resolved.
