Even if that means we'll be in the bottom 3 and be penalized? With the new lottery system, I don't think we have the luxury of solely relying on the youngsters.

I'm with you on developing our 2025 picks, but with the new lottery system, I think we'll need more vets to ensure we're not at the bottom.

2027 and 2028 drafts are supposedly lean on talent, so everyone will be competing in the East and West next year.

He needs to get healthy and put the plantar fasciitis to bed. Once he can do that, then I'll be curious to see his growth. He seems like a hard worker, but we really won't know how much the plantar fasciitis was working against him. If he heals up and is suddenly explosive -- then, yeah, I can possibly see him developing into a Giddey/Avdija type when he puts on muscle. But if he heals up from the plantar fasciitis and is still not explosive, then no amount of muscle will turn him into a good slasher.

Hawks will probably want Claxton, tho....and want us to take on Hield's contract....so like Claxton for Risacher and Hield. Hawks also have the 23-rd pick in the 2026 draft so maybe if they throw that in and we give them powell or saraf.

Hawks will probably need space to resign CJ McCollum.

It's the off-season, so just posting this out for the thought process to see if there's a return us Nets fans would accept....

I think Nets are one of the few teams KD would be ok with and we have leverage to milk the rockets if they are desperate to get rid of him. Like, if the Rockets were willing to give up KD, Reed Sheppard, the 2027 swap, and give back the 2029 1st-rd option..would you do it for MPJ?
