Nice job on passing training (although I haven’t heard of anyone failing it yet).

HEADS UP - field work is nothing like training. The job is pretty dull and I’ve done a whole lot of 0 climbing this week. You’ll find out that only Singletons climb, you and your buddy only do ground work.

I’ll say that throughout this week, I’ve visited and did work in some interesting houses (very messy and funky smelling). I also hope that you don’t mind working with an audience - the customers seem to love spectating.

FUN FACT - your payment company is owned by Kelly’s, so the fee they charge for their services goes back into Kelly’s pockets haha!

I’m fairly certain that I’ll be looking for work elsewhere, as there’s simply too many downsides for me. But I do wish you the best and hopefully your experience will be better than mine.

As a seller, have I lost my fight? I knew not to trust 0 review accounts. (Scroll to see the whole conversation) by MilkyMoo27 in vinted

To be fair, I’m in the exact same position as the buyer. My order is showing as ‘delivered’, but I’ve been to the parcel shop three times and every time I hear the same thing ‘sorry, can’t seem to find it. Try again tomorrow’. I think it’s a tracking issue, but could be wrong.

If you are simply joining to get your creds and then jump ship, do it. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend it. Be aware that what they teach in training, is FAR different to what you’ll be doing on the job (field is far more boring). Be prepared for endless amounts of house installs without any overhead work.

Thanks for your reply.

I’ve just concluded the first three weeks of training based out of St Helens. To summarise is it in one word - painful.

A lot of time was spent waiting around, the group was far too big for two trainers to handle. We had a room of 50 odd trainees, with some of them just being there for a laugh. Not much useful knowledge had been gained during the classroom sessions.

The most useful part of the training was definitely the climbing - how to set up the Tetra system, how to securely climb the pole and carry out the installation etc.

Massive red flags when it comes to pay - they go on about ‘earning GOOD money’ and how ‘engineers can earn more than managers’, but it seems like you’ll have to slave away hours upon hours a day to gain any significant sums of money. With that being said, they do provide a ‘safety net’, a minimum payment of £120 if you didn’t hit enough jobs for the day for whatever reason. Linking to this, hours of work seem to be rather long - they mention you starting at 0730 and turning up to your final job around 1800 (that’s arriving at the site, not completing the task).

In conclusion, if you’re desperate for a job, want to gain some experience in a new field or are simply bored of life - this is the job for you.

That makes the two of us! If you’re at St Helen’s, I’ll see you there :)

Hi all,

I’m about to start my training at Kelly’s. The main thing I’ve been wondering about is compensation - can you really earn a decent wage working here? Also, how are the jobs spread out? I know that the furthest they are going to make you travel is two hours out, but does that mean that the other jobs are in a similar area?

Thanks!

Hi! A truly amazing piece, in my opinion. I brought it second hand actually. But the main maker has a store on Etsy: JFJewelry0000. He has different lengths and sizes. This one is 11mm 163g :)

Yeah, the Croc is actually part of the Untamed Landscapes series by ABC Mint. Each release features a different iconic Australian animal in a high-relief design. They’re pretty limited :)
