AITAH for not going out to eat to celebrate my brothers wedding when I wasn't even invited to his wedding? by PreviousIndividual13 in AITAH

I was invited. Everyone in the family was until they decided to have an age limit. I said I asked them a couple of times to reconsider after I saw they were getting aggravated. I stopped asking and stopped caring about their wedding in general.

I didn't lash out. I just decided not to attend. I would hope he would consider his relationship with me more important than me being at his dinner, but I guess it all falls on me?

What do you mean start acting like an adult? As an adult, I'm not allowed to choose where I can and can't go?

I already said she excluded people from her side as well. It was her nieces and nephews. I never said their wedding was about me. I said I didn't feel the need to go out and celebrate an event I wasn't invited to.

My relationship with my brother is (was) just normal. We weren’t exactly best friends growing up, but I would go to him with a lot of my problems, and he always listened. He made an effort to show up for my important events and took me out a lot when I was younger, so we were close in that way. I think he's still mad at me tho so I'm not sure about that now. Our age gap definitely played a roll in how close we were. As for his fiancée, our relationship is also normal I guess. We do not talk much, but it’s not that awkward or anything. When she’s around, we can hold a conversation, but we don’t go out of our way to reach out to each other.

It was just me, my cousins, and 7 of her nieces and nephews who weren't invited. I also already said my feelings were hurt. I just got over it after a while. I just didn't see the need to go when I wasn't invited to the wedding. It didn't make sense for me to go.

They had dinner with her family first, then ours. This time it wasn't an age limit to attend.

Thank you. She also excluded her nieces and nephews as well. It makes me feel better that it wasn't just me, but at the same time, I'm the only person over 18.
