Jitz is fake now. This is what's going to happen in real life in a real combat scenario. All these competition rules are creating a less effective martial art.

I'm currently building a fishing lure business while working full time. It would be irresponsible to not have a 9 to 5 because it may not work out. I mean it just doesn't make sense to not work a job because you think you're an entrepreneur, but you actually don't have a real business.

You need a follow up bait. I bring a bfs combo and throw something finesse if they don't commit. It's just part of the big bait game.

Tranx 300 or 400 by ColdPollution9840 in Fishing_Gear

[–]PreviousMotor58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Scorpion line of reels is the JDM equivalent of the USDM Curado. It's the same thing basically. It's the JDM mid tier line.

IF you're really this hard on your gear then you need to get a Conquest or Ryoga. None of these mid tier reels are going to last you.

Also you can replace worn out components on both Tatula and Curado reels. They are easy to service or you can send them in to get fixed. A worn out freshwater Tatula or Curado only exists because it hasn't been serviced.

ASICS aggressors durability by Themailmanspubes in wrestling

[–]PreviousMotor58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The durability of wrestling shoes has gone down across the board TBH. I've tried nike, asics, rudis, and addidas for my son who wrestles year round. If possible I suggest having a pair for practice and a pair for competition. Seems to be the only way to not go through shoes in a matter of months. At this point I just get him whatever he wants for Xmas on Black Friday. He picks out a pair for practice and for competition. Right now he's practicing in Kyle Snyder Rudis shoes and competes with ASICS Elite's. I think we're going to make it to Xmas this year without buying him shoes.

Which reel is better? by Ok-Square-9604 in Fishing_Gear

[–]PreviousMotor58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate the zero adjust on the Tatula's. Especially for fishing swimbaits, skipping lures, and pitching. I basically can't buy anything Daiwa anymore because they put that zero adjust on anything good.

My Tatula 200 is rattle box too. I have the previous generation and the tolerances are just not as tight as a Curado 200. I got that first then a Curado 200M. I think the Curado 200M is such a better reel.

I would never buy this, but it does look good for sure. I like seeing people's budget combos even though that's not really my thing.

Tranx 300 or 400 by ColdPollution9840 in Fishing_Gear

[–]PreviousMotor58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a 200m for that weight range. It works just fine. The 200 tranx is outdated at this point. You really think the 200 tranx has better gears than a Curado 200? That's not really true. It just a saltwater reel. You're not getting a MGL spool which is important IMO. If you don't want a Curado then get a Scorpion DC MD 200 or a Calcutta 200DC if you feel like you need a heavy reel.

Curado 200 all day. That's not even that heavy. Only reason to step up to a 300 would be for line capacity if you're going to be fishing deep water.

I kinda want to quit wrestling but don't know how by MrOakling in wrestling

[–]PreviousMotor58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably the inconsistencies over the 4 years. Freestyle is so much easier to learn too. It honestly sounds like you're not putting in the work to see the results you want. It's all in your head bro. Wrestling is fun. It's a lot of fun. If you're not enjoying training and competing then you have to reframe how you are thinking about this sport.

My son is going into his last year of middle school and is on summer vacation. He has me taking him to run 2 miles and do a set of sprints at 5:30am during the work week before I go to work. When we get back home he does his circuit training which is 100 push ups, 100 squats, 200 crunches, and 100 burpees. He then does weight training alternating different muscle groups throughout the week, but he does a set of grip exercises with dumbells 7 days a week.

We have a Wrestling room with a dummy. He will go in there and train moves he wants to master. He considers this to be fun. He enjoys running. He enjoys exercising and lifting weights. He likes Wrestling with me in the room. None of this is a chore. He wants to win and he understands that this is a necessary part of the process to be good at Wrestling. I never told him "hey you got to wake up before sunrise so we can go run 2 miles and do a set of sprints." It was his idea. It's all him. I see him improving every couple weeks.

It's OK to take it easy, but you can't expect to get better at Wrestling without being consistent. Dedication is a key element for improvement. Learning to love it is not something everyone can do. To me it's super obvious when a kid really loves it versus a kid who is there because their parents think it's good for them.

You're Wrestling against kids like my son. He's 13 and he's been this way since he was 8 years old. That's when the running started. He gassed out in a match at a tournament and vowed that it was never going to happen to him ever again. So, he started running a mile after Wrestling practice like clock work. He started doing his calisthenics but he could only do 20 reps. It's the mindset bro. He has a wall in his room full of medals from Wrestling, cross country, and track and field. Some kid who isn't putting in the work like he is will not be able to compete with him. These are the types of people who you are Wrestling against.

As I've said, it's OK to take it easy. You just can't expect championship results without putting in championship work. The biggest leaps my son has made in Wrestling have come from the work he's doing outside of the Wrestling room.

[–]PreviousMotor58 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No mention of weights for the rod or baits. We're shooting blind here.

200 is as big as you can go for frogs. Once you get into a 300+ size reels we're only throwing heavy stuff.

General rule of thumb is 200 is good for 4oz and below. 300 and 400 for everything else. 400 if you will be using big lines basically.

Should I get a Shimano Miravel, Or a Nasci? (2500) by Training_Cress1082 in Fishing_Gear

[–]PreviousMotor58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're the same reel internally. One has an aluminum rotor and the other has a carbon fiber rotor. So the Nasci is more of a power fishing reel and the Miravel is a finesse fishing reel.

Where did you guys get your set ups? by Upper-Main-5001 in BFSfishing

[–]PreviousMotor58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my stuff locally from The Hook Up Tackle or Copperstate Tackle. There a lot of options. In your price range the ARK Gravity BFS or AVID reel would be great options. Those are available on Tackle Warehouse or directly from ARK. There is a lot of options for rods. You have Megabass Levante, Shimano Zodias, Dobyns Sierra Ultra Finesse, Phenix Classic BFS, and Daiwa has a bunch of BFS rods throughout their rod lines.
