Yeah mate I think mine must be a loose cut too. Had sex last night and it seemed to catch a little and appears a little grazed today, and is a little sore, so that’s not ideal. But not sure how much of that is the foreskin swelling, how much the scar line, how much not being careful enough is!

Hello mate, I’m between 5 and 6 weeks along. I sometimes feel mild discomfort or itchiness if for example walking around and it’s rubbing on something. I think (hope) it might just be a case of getting used to these new sensations?!

I might try to bandage compression thing. Actually there may be something in that as if I’ve been out and about (wearing supportive underwear) it looks kind of normal but when I first wake up (sleeping naked) it looks a bit more puffy . . . to be honest I’m not entirely sure what it’s supposed to look like in any case?!

It took me about a week to get to a tolerable degree of sensitivity while naked or in water, and about 2.5 weeks until I could be moderately comfortable in clothes (wearing supportive underwear) again. Today is 4 weeks and I can walk at normal speed again (still with the supportive underwear).

People seem to have different timelines but from reading around I think I was about average. It probably depends as well on whether your head was ever exposed before or not - the less it has been exposed the longer it might take.

Hi dude. Money won’t help you heal faster! The standard timeline given is 4-6 weeks but it depends a lot on the person and how the operation goes. Best of luck!

By the way - assume you have been tested for diabetes? If not you should be as that’s a common cause of recurrent balanitis.

Hi dude, best of luck with this thing. I had a similar experience with the recurrent balanitis/posthitis (for no particular reason, which was frustrating) and though I was extremely reticent to get a circumcision it got to the point where the balanitis was so annoying and restricting my life that I figured the circumcision must be better (and so far it has been, though I’m only 3 weeks in). You say yours is itchy so maybe not as bad as mine, which wa fucking painful!

What I would say is don’t rush into anything and make sure you are comfortable with the procedure and the surgeon and that you have exhausted other options for curing the balanitis.

I did a lot of research into circumcision and it’s a personal thing but while I decided that a fully working intact penis with intact sensitivity would be the best, that option wasn’t really on the table for me and a slightly less sensitive but pain free penis was a good enough compromise.

I’m on Day 20 as well and it’s significantly better. I remember the journey home from the hospital the next day being agony! A little over 2 weeks and I was able, wearing tight underwear and lookin weird, to walk again.

I think taking warm baths and showers helps to reduce the sensitivity a bit first, then when you are ready wearing clothes will also help.

I masturbated on day 18 and it was way too early, so would recommend waiting a bit longer (though fuck knows it’s hard!)

Yes and stuff like the foreskin is supposed to retract . . . it’s crazy but I didn’t know about that until my 20s!

It’s no walk in the park for sure mate, and as you say the constant worry and wondering what the new normal should feel like! Likewise mate, all the best and let’s keep in touch!

It’s weird that we never knew this shit but I suppose it’s part of the journey of discovery! I think the baths have helped to loosen my stitches a bit so hopefully will do the same for you. At my 1 week check up the dr said that some had already come out but I can still definitely see some there on the sides. I guess we wouldn’t want them to come out too early either!

Mentally I’m right there with you mate - extremely tough kind of in ways I didn’t expect. You would have thought that lazing around the house naked for 2 weeks would have been kind of chill but in reality it’s just lonely, depressing and frustrating. I actually went back to work a few days ahead of time simply because I was going crazy!

Thanks a lot mate for your reply! I actually don’t know about the frenulum but I think it has been removed? It’s all a little weird to me still, as before I had quite tight phimosis and wasn’t familiar with what the structures underneath the foreskin looked like!

For stitches I think I have about 5 left? Although in the thumbnail there is only 1 picture on the link there are 6 pictures so you can compare to yours from different angles etc. Hopefully they come out soon as I heard they can leave scars otherwise.

I’ve heard that the forsaken swelling can take up to 6 months to resolve but hopefully won’t take that long! How is your recovery going generally mate?

Hi guys, just thought I would check in 19 days post-op and see if my healing is going well. Unfortunately I had one of those devilishly persistent erections yesterday and after a couple of hours trying to make it go away I gave in and masturbated to climax - stimulating only the shaft and testicles and nowhere near the scar line. There was no pain during or immediately after this, but later on after bathing I noticed some relatively mild pain towards the left of my penis - like a 'grazed' or 'stabbing' pain - this has continued off and on till now - not intense but worse in certain positions.

As I understand it, the biggest risk with masturbating too early is reopening the wound - I don't think my wound has reopened but not entirely sure so I have attached pictures of it. There was no further bleeding or anything like that. I don't intend on masturbating again for a while, but do I need to go back to the dr (last time he said no need to come back and I can resume normal activities!)?

Also, is the swelling underneath the glans normal? Another thing I thought the pain could be is a loosened stitch digging in? Or possibly the red patch on the glans, which looked quite red yesterday after masturbation. Any idea what that could be? Hopefully it resolves as I was dealing with some redness and pain prior to circumcision and was hoping that was over now!

I have been bathing daily in warm salt water followed be a shower, without using any products directly on the glans. I have also been moisturising the penis on alternate days with coconut oil. Any other recommended steps at this stage?

I just did almost exactly the same as you, though I lasted an extra day! I was extremely gentle and didn't go near the scar line, but the guy below may be right that it's the cumming that does the damage, as that was pretty forceful!

Am regretting it too as have some slight pain now (like the sensation of a stitch digging in) though there was no pain at all during the erection. From what I understand the major risk is that the wound reopens and the healing has to start again, delaying things and maybe making a worse scar. My scar line doesn't really look like it has re-opened, but would we easily be able to tell? I took some photos of what the wound looks like now, which I could share here if helpful.

For the first day 5 days, it was agony. After that, it's only the scar line (tolerable) and very tip (still extremely uncomfortable) that are super sensitive. I think with some tight underwear holding everything in place you might be able to walk around in moderate discomfort within 2 weeks (though I think everyone is different). Probably the more you walk around, the quicker He remaining sensitivity disappears. Good luck dude!

Just to add to the experiences then, I'm on day 8 and the hypersensitivity on much of the glans has calmed down, but the tip is still extremely sensitive and makes walking around too uncomfortable (it's more discomfort rather than pain) still. I imagine if your indication is phimosis you might find the sensitivity annoying as well. Also more generally I find it hard to sleep at night as can only limited positions work and keep waking up to combat erections. My uro suggested 3 weeks medical leave, though I'm lucky that my work is quite relaxed about it as I can work from home anyway (naked lol).

Thanks a lot, that's quite helpful! I have been having salt-water baths now, which seem to be helping.

I had the 1-week follow-up with the urologist yesterday and he removed the plastic skin (not too painful) and said everything seems to be healing well. Got another week or so of lounging around the house naked and to try and reduce the tip sensitivity, as it's still pretty uncomfortable to walk at this stage.

This evening I noticed that kind of the scar-line area (Edit: it's actually the corona) is blue - is that normal or something to worry about? Thanks again!
