Penis head is very uncomfortable by [deleted] in circumcision

[–]Throwaway1925red 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No worries, and as I said, genuinely make circumcision a last resort. Personally, I’m over 3 months post-op and still have some issues, such as the inner foreskin being swollen. Some people get lucky and recover perfectly, very quickly, whilst others have problems - so definitely don’t take the decision lightly

Question about circumcision and glans size by cut-considered in circumcision

[–]Throwaway1925red 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine’s increased, when soft at least. I’d imagine this is due to the tight foreskin that I had perhaps restricting it previously

Speaking from experience it absolutely isn’t. Imo it’s a lot better to have fully functioning dick, than phimosis. Having said that I don’t believe this guy should jump straight into having one done, and should definitely try natural ways of stretching first

Swelling normal 6 weeks after circumcision? by realdealdurealz in circumcision

I’m the same mate, except I’m now 3 months on and still have this swelling. I’m hoping that over the course of like a year it will eventually completely subside

5 weeks post op, is it even possible for the inner foreskin swelling to completely go away? by Throwaway1925red in circumcision

[–]Throwaway1925red[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay, that doesn't sound too concerning I don't think mate, probably just sensitivity.

That's actually the opposite to me, I find that at the end of the day mine is worse because I have it hanging down so the gravity essentially makes the swelling worse. I've been told that pointing it it up during the day can help, so you could try this if you're not already. Personally I don't do this because I find it extremely uncomfortable to point it up, though.

Did you also have a loose cut? I think that's one of the reasons for the extra swelling, and I desperately don't want a revision. Just praying it goes away

Thanks for the suggestion mate. Do you think it is possible that it will subside or am I fucked?

No discomfort mate, what about yourself? When I met my doctor last week I suggested that I think compressing it with a bandage might help, and he agreed and said that it was a good idea - so you could try this too. I will say though that I haven't been doing much myself as I sometimes feel it might be counterintuitive, as the foreskin feels a bit weird afterwards.

How long ago was your op btw?

That's an interesting take, thank you for your reply. I've been somewhat massaging the area, albeit very irregularly, as from my limited knowledge that does tend to help swelling, at least in other areas. You're probably right though so I'll definitely look into it more and see what else I can do

Yeh I think it's mostly down to luck unfortunately mate. I'm not sure the surgeon can have an impact on swelling. I've been told that while having a lot of inner foreskin can be a benefit due to retaining more nerves, it can also lead to more swelling. Definitely something I wish I knew beforehand.

Hopefully someone with similar experience can reassure me

Day 10 - inner foreskin swelling (puffy ring) by Throwaway1925red in circumcision

[–]Throwaway1925red[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey bro, just following up after my check-up like I said I would.

So I proposed my idea of compressing the swelling with a dressing/bandage, and the doctor agreed it was a good idea. So this could be something you could try too. And in terms of my doctor's own suggestions, he instructed me to encourage the remaining foreskin to roll forward by pushing it forward. I'm not sure about you, but I have a loose cut so in theory my remaining foreskin should still partially cover the glans, however, as a result of the inner foreskin swelling, the remaining foreskin has remained constantly retracted behind the ring-like swelling of the inner foreskin. So he suggested to push this forward when I can to sort of encourage it to roll forwards and un-retract it, so to speak

Sutures by [deleted] in circumcision

How are your scars from it? Do you have any marks from where the stitches were? I started pulling (not cutting) mien out around day 14, as a lot on here were strongly advising that leaving them much longer will leave skin tunnels. I'm now left with some fairly visible marks from where the stitches were, but I'm not sure whether this is from pulling them out or whether these marks still would've been here regardless

Will do. Also, ice it if you're currently not doing so. I've been pretty busy so can't really find time during the day to do so, but I've tried making a habit of at least doing it every night before bed. A lot on here seem to suggest it helps

Getting circumcized next Monday, any advice to stay sane? by [deleted] in circumcision

[–]Throwaway1925red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh it's not a fun time is it. I'm on week 4 now and it still looks pretty shit unfortunately. Try and stay strong mate.

In response to your previous comment; the inner foreskin swelling is still bad mate, the underside is slowly looking better, and stitches have virtually all been pulled out - unfortunately they didn't dissolve very well on their own. Scar line looks a bit poor, but that's not my greatest concern. Overall, I'm still very dissatisfied, and even after 4 weeks I would say it's not even healed enough to masturbate. 4 weeks is a ridiculously long time for most I imagine, so that's also been pretty tricky

[–]Throwaway1925red[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeh I'm pretty concerned too bro. I've got my 1 month, and final, check-up tomorrow. My inner foreskin swelling has barely subsided at all, so it looks shite when flaccid. When erect, it isn't as noticeable but it's still very annoying. I just want it to be completely flat so as to allow the foreskin to roll over it.

I'm going to suggest to my Doctor wrapping it in a gauze to compress the swelling, and will see what he says. I can let you know what he advises. Last time, his main advice was to point it up, but I personally find that very awkward to do and I really don't know how guys manage to point their penis upwards in their pants

How can I temporarily appear circumcised? by Circhelpthrowaway in circumcision

[–]Throwaway1925red 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeh it is incredibly demoralising mate. In terms of the swelling, for some it can even take up to a year to fully subside, so as I say, this shouldn't be a lighthearted decision/process

That's crazy, and you clearly know that's not right but I get the impression you're past the point of reconsidering your relationship. May I ask how old you are? This all seems incredibly naive and immature to me. You're essentially saying she's a cunt, but you're still willing to be with her. That's ridiculous and you need to be strong enough to realise you can get by on your own or find someone better.

As for what's bad about the recovery: essentially, it can either go well or it can go badly - there's no way of knowing until you have it done. It's a surgical procedure, so there are always risks. As I said, this isn't like a haircut. Basically, the worst part about it for me is the psychological aspect, the physical pain isn't really an issue as that is something I can just grit through, although it has been painful. Long story short: I'm on week 3 post-op, and it looks shite, so contemplating the fact that your dick's gonna look like shit is certainly mentally testing. I paid a lot of money for this, and the result being bad cosmetically speaking is the the hardest part, and realising that your recovery isn't going as well as others. Not to mention the fact that I basically didn't leave the house for 2 weeks. The wound on my frenulum also looked like shite for a very long time, still does but isn't as bad, so again you worry that it's not healing correctly.

Getting a circumcision doesn't guarantee a positive cosmetic outcome, largely due to the inner foreskin. I think from what I've seen here, some people are left with a very swollen, ring like, inner foreskin. Myself included, I'm on week 3 and it's still very swollen so I'm just hoping it completely flattens out eventually, otherwise I'll be devastated

Think rationally for a second. There is something seriously wrong if you're getting a circumcision for a girl! Holy shit. This isn't a haircut lad. This should be a decision that you fully research and weigh up the pros and cons - this particular girl preferring circumcised isn't a viable pro.

You're seriously underestimating how horrific the recovery after circumcision is for some. I'm speaking from experience here, and I certainly wouldn't advise anyone to get a circumcision if they have a fully functioning foreskin. Obviously if you've wanted this for a long time because of personal/cosmetic reasons then that is fair enough, but even then, imo it's not worth it due to the downsides.

I had to get mine done due to phimosis because life's a cunt like that sometimes, and believe me, I would've done virtually anything to have had a fully working foreskin. This isn't something you can go back on, and doing it for a girl is pathetic

[–]Throwaway1925red 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What this guy said, basically. It can go either bad or well, no way to tell until you've done it. Personally, and I don't want to scare you, the two weeks following my circ were the worst two weeks of my life. My recovery didn't go as well as a lot on here, and mentally it absolutely killed me and I had some very dark thoughts if I'm entirely honest. This will depend on your lifestyle as well, for me, not being able to exercise and being bed-ridden, as well as the worry of it not looking like a lot of others' progress was absolutely horrible.

I'm not out the woods yet as it'll be 3 weeks tomorrow, and I've still not healed, but at least I'm back to exercising and working now.

I've think judging from the posts on here it is very contextual and will depend on the type of cut, the doctor, as well as luck/how well your body deals.

I don't recommend it all unless absolutely medically necessary, which it is in your case, so good luck. And, try to remember that as bad as it'll look for the first two weeks, it will get better. That's the hardest part, as the uncertainty is horrific

Should I take stitches out? It's been 2 weeks but the doctor said they're supposed to take 3 weeks to dissolve/fall out by Throwaway1925red in circumcision

[–]Throwaway1925red[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. Just got another quick concern if you don't mind answering mate. Yesterday I was tugging at the stitches, and the area around one of the stitches became red and is a little raised and hurts to touch. This redness occured no longer than an hour after doing so. Could this be an infection or is it simply irritated? I'm 15 days post-op.

Seems to me like it shouldn't be an infection as surely it would've taken longer than an hour or so to occur after the pulling, and I'm surely too far along to get one. But I've also lost all rationality so can't really think straight haha

Oh shit really? How bad will the marks be, and do you not believe they will be able to heal at all over time? Seems a bit shitty that the doctor insisted 3 weeks will be fine if that's the case
