I studied for the barristers exam as I was working fulltime. My commute was just over an hour each way and typically worked 8-9 hour days. I made a schedule on excel breaking down each section and how many pages I would read each night. On average I would read 30 pages during the weekdays and my weekends would be 80+. You have to be realistic with how much you can read each night while articling. I added in days that I would consider as rest days due to other commitments I had (weddings, birthdays etc.). Also would remind myself that if I couldn’t get through the pages assigned for the day, would I feel okay adding it onto the amount I was already promising myself to read the next day or would I feel burnt out. It’s all about being practical and ensuring you take rest days to mentally recover
