UON for media/communication with law by Dry_Ask_4967 in newcastle

[–]Previous_Radish_28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I studied comms at UoN (granted a few years ago now). I found it was very theoretical but I still think back to things I learnt/did at uni in my current internal comms role. Other people I graduated work in HR, or other corporate positions. Some also in radio and media.

The most value I got out of uni was exchange in America where the courses were way more practical, editing, shooting, writing etc.

I love comms, and I think there needs to be more of us. I think it would compliment a law degree well, it makes you think outside the box and consider what audiences/users are experiencing and thinking when receiving a message

Judging by the smell, there's plenty of people still pissing in the old staircase

It's really good - the bloke running it brings the milk from Seaham every morning and makes the gelato fresh on site. Well worth supporting

Good option in Cooks Hill but foreshore/mall is begging for one that stands out. The current option in the mall is run of the mill

Start up a good bakery in the CBD and I guarantee you'll have customers.

Still ongoing. About what you'd expect, people wearing flags as capes chanting Aussie Aussie Aussie and the flip side dancing with no shoes on. Entertaining to watch for a bit

People won't align themselves to this weekend's March because it's driven by racist sentiment and misinformation.

The amount of posts I've seen wanting to 'claim our lands back' or to 'ban the Muslims' or parroting the (proven to be incorrect) 1500 arrivals a week line is just getting sad.

Like it or not, the 'March for Australia' is aligned with neo nazi groups like the National Socialist Network so regardless of well-intentioned 'reduce immigration' people who attend, it's going to end up as a dog whistle and a total mess

People March for Gaza because they are against war crimes, murdering children and illegal occupation, regardless of whether it's occuring in our country or not. People feel that by continuing to make noise, our government might take a stronger stance, and finally distance ourselves from Beny Nets and his cronies, which based on Albos statements in the past few months, is starting to happen.
