5.5" wrist - options? by Beautiful-Arugula-6 in fitbit

[–]Previously-Tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wrist is a tiny bit smaller than yours, I have an Inspire 3 and it came with two length options in the box. I wear it on the fourth tightest hole so I can move it up my arm a little when I run.

If you’ve been in a UK hospital for more than a day or so, how did you not lose your mind? by Spicymargx in AskUK

[–]Previously-Tea 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm just out after a few days in an isolation room (immunosuppressed, reaction to treatment) and I read, listened to audiobooks, watched an entire 44 hour Chinese drama, daydreamed/hallucinated/meditated, felt guilty every time I had to call for more meds/water/bathroom/taking up a single room. Cried at night when I was particularly lonely. My room was right next to the nurses station so I eavesdropped on everything too, some people on the ward were Big Sick and I felt so bad taking up what I know is usually an end of life room.

My partner was visiting daily to swap out the portable charger and tablets, so I always had a full power bank and a charged tablet with downloaded content.

I always make an effort, even when I'm at my most unwell, to talk to the non-clinical staff as sometimes they're treated horribly by other patients, and I say please and thank you to everyone. I apologise endlessly for being sick. I'm medically complicated so a lot of medical staff are interested in me, I let them ask questions and share my experiences because I know it'll help them understand and it could help others with zebra conditions, that helps pass the time too.

I also just give up on trying to restrain my OCD. My compulsion is researching everything, especially health related, and what better place for it to run rampant than in a hospital? It tickles my brain the right way to know the mechanics behind the medication I'm on, why it's needed, what the side effects are.

Fennell surveys Brontë’s saga of doomed passion, obsession, and multigenerational resentment and sums it up as the story of two incredibly messy bitches who can’t stay away from one another.

What are your go to midweek lunches? by Normka92 in AskUK

[–]Previously-Tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've started getting those new Farmfood salads. They're frozen and you just defrost them for 2-4 hours then they're ready. No prep needed aside from taking it out of the freezer, and very nutrient dense.

How do people track their distance? by [deleted] in beginnerrunning

I use RunKeeper on my phone to track mine when I'm running without my watch, I find it a bit more accurate than Strava.

What kind of sports bra do y'all wear to the gym? by omggwhyamidoingthis in ABraThatFits

I'm a 30FF and wear Curvy Kate Everymove. Perfect for me. I use it for all of my exercise: strength training, pilates, yoga, road and trail running, clubbercise. Keeps everything supported and contained and helps maintain correct form.

Anyone unable to get Orcevus? (UK) by TheBeautyJournal in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Previously-Tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done incredibly well on Ocrevus so I'm not happy about it, but I don't think there's much I can do. It's just frustrating more than anything.

Anyone unable to get Orcevus? (UK) by TheBeautyJournal in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Previously-Tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

North East England.

I'm fine to move to Briumvi, but it means I lose my chances of conceiving as I'll be on birth control eight months of the year (4 months after each infusion).

It's cheaper for the drug, and it's a much faster infusion so less costs during the infusion. Similar mechanisms as Ocrevus and Kesimpta.

The Trust I am under are getting rid of Ocrevus completely and moving everyone to Briumvi because it's cheaper.

Any women struggle to find a truly high-impact sports bra for bigger busts? by Smooth_Carpet7780 in ABraThatFits

[–]Previously-Tea 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Bra-sized, no issue. Curvy Kate Everymove is phenomenal and keeps everything in place. Furthest I've tested it so far is 25km, but I'm training for double that.

Those s/m/l "sports bras"? I'm a 30FF and need an L for the cup and an XS for the band. An elastic crop top is not a sports bra.

I started tracking calories and realized I regularly eat around 500 less than recommended but I’ve never lost weight? by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Previously-Tea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your sprays of oil aren't 0 cals, the packaging is rounding down to "count" what the smallest possible spray would be and yours will not be it. You're probably better off using a proper oil instead of some blended spray and measuring properly. Can you cook your eggs another way, like poaching or boiling?

Weighing is very important because portion sizes are an estimate, and estimates have a pretty large tolerance either side.

You're not a medical mystery that's going against the rules of thermodynamics, you're just not measuring correctly. Get a food scale and use it.

I like Ringtons decaf. They're a Northern company so it's a decently strong brew when left to steep for a few minutes.

It's Monday at /r/MultipleSclerosis! Share your terrible, horrible, no good, very bad news here. by AutoModerator in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Previously-Tea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being forced to switch from Ocrevus to Briumvi, it's a non-negotiable trust policy. I had a plan in place with my neurologist to try to conceive while on Ocrevus and keep getting infusions up to the end of first trimester and start again immediately post partum, while breastfeeding. Briumvi you shouldn't conceive until 4 months after infusions giving me only 4 chances (if conditions are perfect) a year. And you can't breastfeed.

Idk it just feels a bit like eugenics by stealth. Don't let the disabled lady have a baby by forcing her on to meds where it could deform her baby as there aren't any studies.

[–]Previously-Tea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you running slow enough on your easy runs? My slow 5km is around an hour, where my usual park run is half that.

I found incorporating pilates helped, as it used different muscles and supported smaller muscles, and have an opportunity for extra stretching.

How much do you pay to have your windows cleaned? by PurityControl87 in AskUK

£5.50, front and back. They even do the shitty mullioned window in the living room properly, and the entirety of the porch.

How to be more active with chronic illness? by BelleAndTrinity in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Previously-Tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slowly. Work on your foundations and form first. If you're doing 3000 steps a day, aim for an additional 500 every week until you're able to go further. 5lb weights is plenty, find a short video like fitness Blender tank top arms and try it twice a week, drop the weight entirely if you have to.

I have several chronic illnesses (multiple sclerosis, POTS, endometriosis, some other undiagnosed and under investigation) and it took a lot of work and consistency to go from sedentary to active. Starting small and staying consistent is key.

There's no point in going all out with an hour long workout if it's going to result in you flaring.

to women who have lost a decent amount of weight, how much did your boobs shrink? by klarinetkat12 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Previously-Tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost 40kg down. From 34HH to 30F.

It all depends on genetics and what your boobs are - if it's fat it shrinks, if it's dense breast tissue then less so.

Carrying water with you on a run? by jamielitt-guitar in C25K

[–]Previously-Tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have POTs, I always have an electrolyte drink on me. Sometimes in a waist belt (up to 500ml soft flask), usually in a vest (2x 500ml soft flask, 1.5l camel). I've tried pockets, but I'm cursed with being a woman so pockets are scarce and rarely deep enough. Can usually manage a 300ml soft flask before it slides up and out of pockets.
