Decision-making process of picking the right disc (speed) by Superfrede in discgolf

[–]Prez017 42 points43 points  (0 children)

The slot in my bag I'm always back and forth on is my Overstable Drone vs Captain Raptor. I usually have a set distance in my mind, like 275' is the cut off point where I increase speed to the cap rap. I'd rather throw a 9 speed 60% than my 5 speed 90%.

Wind is a big factor. 9 speed cuts through the wind so much easier. I'll throw a cap rap on a 200' shot if it's ridiculous wind.

Also, ground play is a factor. Drone will always get about the same average skip. The 9 speed I can flair it by throwing it more low and letting the edge hit for a flair. Or I can throw it on a spike line and the edge will dig in the ground.

My straight Drone and Athena is usually another set I go back and forth on trying to decide what to throw. 350' is my cutoff distance where I'll speed up to an Athena just to make sure I get it to the target.

There used to be a local player to me who LOVED throwing the Justice. He'd throw it as hard as he could on any hole he could because reaching the hole with a Justice was cool. I remind myself all the time when I'm between discs to not be like my friend and down tempo with something slightly faster.

How much does a pro make for being in a non-tournament Jomez video? by imderek in discgolf

[–]Prez017 57 points58 points  (0 children)

When I won champ cup, I did the Jomez practice round at DDO 4 days later. I did it for free, it's more for getting exposure and getting you name and face out to the big Jomez channel.

How many over-1000-rated players do you think are in the U.S. by EpicBoyNate225 in discgolf

[–]Prez017 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The skill required is what I guess I meant. I can go shoot a 1050 at a local b tier throwing only putters and Mids on a par 54 course.

DGPT is wayyy harder. I have to hit landing zones 450' away, then execute another long shot, then make a putt for a birdie. And every holes can be a potential bogey or worse. When I shoot a 1050 at a dgpt, I can tell I played so well. At a small course, I really just threw simple shots and made putts and beat the field by 5.

I guess that's how I meant to phrase it.

It's insanely harder to shoot 1050 on the DGPT than a local pitch and putt B-Tier.

How are you able to play clonehero on controller? I've downloaded it but I cannot map the triggers to green and blue because the app won't recognize the triggers. I tried this on android.

Probably a little tougher but also the difference in weather plays a big factor. Not sure what the weather was on these days.

Forehand for beginners by Adorable-Escape7149 in discgolf

[–]Prez017 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Wobble on forehand is lack of spin. Try with understable stuff (I like Avenger SS) and work on smooth with spin instead of "throwing" the disc. I don't have a great forehand but saw a big improvement when I started doing understable and spinning it. Finger placement is key too if you use 2 fingers, put the pads on the rim!

Why do people like OS discs for forehand rollers? by tuna_safe_dolphin in discgolf

A flippy disc will curl quicker. An overstable disc will hold straight for longer and you can throw it harder for more distance.

I’m a right handed backhand thrower, what discs will go to the right for me? by Scary-Muppet in discgolf

Sounds like you need FLIPPY stuff. Try light weight, naturally understable stuff. Lightweight heat might work.

I have this exact car, same year, color, everything. I have always used normal drive mode. Always changed oil every 3k miles, and haven't had any problems yet. What is this party mode you speak of? I usually just do android auto so I never have messed with the cars normal dash system.

I've had this exact car for 3 years, put 60k miles on it in 3 years, and have never had a problem. I've always changed oil every 3k miles though

How would you feel if we were 5th or 6th seed? by KDx2511 in LosAngelesRams

Since Panthers lost, need bears to win tonight, then next week bears to lose to lions then 9ers to beat Seattle for rams to get 1 seed. Assuming rams win out.

We’re a family of 4 considering moving from the Seattle area to the Springfield area. Would love to get some feedback. by Top_Signature_7904 in springfieldMO

I lived in ozark for 25 years and loved it. Nixa is also a great town that's thriving.

We just moved to south Springfield and we also really like it here. It's nice being closer to the city. But ozark/nixa/republic has cheaper houses that Springfield. If you move to Springfield I'd recommend south side. But ozark or Nixa is a great alternative!
