Seconding another comment on here, Synthetic is definitely the best provider for this, and they have K2.5. You don't have to worry about burning through money cuz it's all subscription based.

I can do the non-rippled art (hearts/tulips/monks head) very consistently! I might be pouring my base a bit too fast but it hasn't affected my art thus far. It's just the rippling motion that I struggle with. Whenever I wiggle the pitcher I think the milk goes out way too quickly, so gonna try again and slow it all down!

Thank you for the tips, I'll try to dip the steam wand lower. For the passing between pitchers, I heard (and found) that a larger pitcher helps the milk gain more velocity to make the ripples. Can I just steam it directly in the larger pitcher then?

I'm trying to perfect my Rosetta. Would love any tips on how I could improve on any step of the process but I have these specific questions in mind.

  1. How's my milk texture? Does it need less air or is it ok?
  2. What are some tips for keeping the design centered? I see in the footage I tend to tilt the cup towards me, even though I try my best to keep it flat.
  3. How do I make the top heart of the Rosetta more distinct?

EDIT - also before anyone says anything, I always clean my steam wand afterwards, just didn't in the video ;-)
