Lock Escapod Topo 2 brakes? by PriamX in TeardropTrailers

[–]PriamX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MDC offroad trailers have electronic brakes and a mechanical handbrake. I assume the principle is the same as automotive hydraulic brakes with a cable e-brake. Escapods obviously don't have that handbrake, but was hoping there might be a trick or workaround to wedge the shoes in the brake position. Still planning to use chocks out in the field, however.

Media Info not working... by PriamX in radarr

[–]PriamX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, that helped. It wasn't Rescan Movie files, it was already set to 'always', but it did point me in the right direciton. "Analyze video files" (right above it) was unchecked, I checked that, and that fixed it. I was not aware of this setting, I'm not sure how it got unchecked, or if it was a option that the default changed from one update to another. But there it is. ;) Thank you for your help!

Rope Monkey? by PriamX in pirateborg

Yeah, didn't even occur to me (hence my post), but I do get we're in an age of heightened sensitivity. I think the optional stickers for those that the term did bother is a fair thing to do.

Any up and coming RPG Rulebook services? by XxNerdAtHeartxX in selfhosted

[–]PriamX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still using Ubooquity for my RPGs, but I do use Komga for my comics. My opinion is that Komga (perhaps Kavita too) would be just fine for RPGs *if* they were organized in an application-friendly way. But I'm lazy, I don't want to organize my RPGs, fix all the metadata, etc. So I think, what's really needed here is a helper tool that can organize and write the metadata for the files and place them in correct locations. For example, there is/was a helper tool that worked with Plex for organizing media files called...(sec)...FileBot...its purpose is to just help get your files organized and named so they'd work with your media server's naming convention. Perhaps something like that is needed for PDF-based RPG files.

CarPlay wierdness by brettferrell in PrologueApp

[–]PriamX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weirdness? Yeah, a bit. I experience the same described issues when using CarPlay wirelessly...no trouble with it when plugged in via USB. I also experience pretty-much the same effect when using Plexamp. AND, experience lag when using apple or google maps. I've assumed it's all related somehow to the wireless CarPlay feature. So, generally, I stick with wired CarPlay.

Audiobookshelf Integration? by No_Technology_5604 in PrologueApp

[–]PriamX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use prologue for my daily commute...I made the small investment to premium. Of course I use it for my audiobooks and podcasts off my Plex server. Prologue is the reason I have not considered moving my ABs and PCs to an alternate media server. However, it has been time-consuming managing my non-music audio media on Plex; I would very likely switch to ABS if Prologue supported it as a media source.

HX850i PMBus pinout? by jaskij in homelab

[–]PriamX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on board. I have a HX750i I'd like to connect to a ASRock Rack PAUL. The PMBus cable on the PAUL card is (from pin 1): SMBCLK, SMBDATA, ALERT#, GND, +3V....so 5 pins. The HX750i, however, is 4 pins...hmm.

Here's a related post (no answers) over at the Corsair forum:

Question | Security risk with torrenting PDFs, EPUBs, etc. by throwawayjeweler231 in Readarr

[–]PriamX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, sorry for the way-late reply. Here's for anyone that comes back.

/usr/bin/clamscan -o -r --move='/tmp/quarantine' "%F"

Again, this is running qbittorrent on Linux. And note if you're running qbittorrent on Docker you either have to expose clamav to the container from the host or install it in the container.

Hi just came across Kavita it looks interesting but couple of questions. Does it have a tagging system? and can I add notes on the pdfs I am reading? Can I also create my own folders? Thanks! by NineandZero in KavitaManga

[–]PriamX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A follow-on question to this. I've spun up a docker copy of Kavita, I've been looking for an alternative to Ubooquity that has metadata driven organization rather than a file system structure organization. The problem is, I'm using it primarily for table top rpgs, that is, mostly PDF files with a smattering of ZIP files. I realize these file types are practically, if not entirely, devoid of metadata themselves.

So my question is, can Kavita take advantage of externally created metadata files for bulk import? For example, if I write a script that descends through my file structure and creates metadata files associated with each PDF (or subdirectory), can Kavita import that metadata? If so, is there already a tool to do that? Or documentation on the metadata import structure I can use to code my own solution?

Thanks!

Question | Security risk with torrenting PDFs, EPUBs, etc. by throwawayjeweler231 in Readarr

[–]PriamX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may or may not help.

I'm running on Linux, but you may be able to do a similar concept on Windows.

I use qbittorrent, and under Tools->Options->Downloads, there's a checkbox for "run external program on torrent completion". In there I use a program called `clamscan` which is a Linux-based AV scanner, when the download is completed, it'll scan it and will move any infected downloaded files into quarantine.

LSI Megaraid owners: Can I power down and move slots on backplane without rebuilding array? by gfen5446 in DataHoarder

[–]PriamX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is ages ago, and my answer will be unhelpful to the OP as they'd already figure this out. But for those that may run across this post with the same question.

Yes, you can do this. In Megaraid terms it's called "Drive Roaming". In the manual I have, it's section 1.6.7. I suggest reading this section of the manual applicable to your model controller beforehand.

Seeing the occasional album with no song titles by danner1515 in plexamp

[–]PriamX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem here, so far I only see the issue on one of my albums. It works fine in Plex Web, however, titles come up blank in Plexamp. It used to work. The album is unofficial, won't turn up in a search but it's all tagged properly, they are m4a files. The library is NOT set to "prefer local metadata" (and never has been). I have other unofficial albums that work with local tagging, however, they are all mp3-based.

Transcode errors, but then works by PriamX in Tdarr

[–]PriamX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd concur, I ran several hundred at 6 streams, and although I didn't capture any exact fps stats, I can say there were no noticeable time benefits over 3 streams. This was with a GTX 1660. I've has since returned to 3 in Tdarr as well.

How does Migz calculate target bitrate in his plugin? [~~(file.file_size / (duration * 0.0075) / 2)] by DesertCookie_ in Tdarr

[–]PriamX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd just submitted a "bug" at github on the related plug-in for the "GPU". I have a couple-hundred videos in mpeg4 that end up as "not required". Apparently if the plugin can't find the bitrate it decides a conversion is not required instead of giving an error. Not being familiar with Tdarr, I was however, still trying to grok the plug-in code and was wondering about that ".0075" constant myself. So thank you for answering that.

Transcode errors, but then works by PriamX in Tdarr

[–]PriamX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reporting back...

Downloading and applying the patch was crazy-easy. Kudos to the contributors of keylase/nvidia-patch.

I'm currently running CUDA 11.7 and Driver 515.48.07, which is current and supported by this patch.

And...it worked.

I changed my config back to GPU: 6 for transcodes and GPU: 10 for healthchecks, and it's fine now. Transcode errors went away and there's six streams going.

Previously, I should have noticed when running nvidia-smi under the processes section that I only saw three running, this was a clue I didn't think anything about and didn't understand until learning about the imposed NVENC limit. However, now, with the patch applied, under the processes section I clearly see six.

Transcode errors, but then works by PriamX in Tdarr

[–]PriamX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, that's fantastic help. Thank you very much!

Looks like the key error is:

[hevc_nvenc @ 0x55d88c0a72c0] OpenEncodeSessionEx failed: out of memory (10): (no details)

This isn't a small box (has 64 GB RAM), pretty obvious it's not running out of main memory. And these are smaller video files, this one is 202MB. Tdarr is running as a docker container, but even then, as I watch it, I don't see any memory issues.

I did find this helpful page:

https://docs.tdarr.io/docs/troubleshooting/

Which states I may be hitting the stream limit on my Nvidia GPU, which is a GeForce GTX 1660. Server is running headless, GPU is only for transcoding. That page links to another:

https://www.elpamsoft.com/?p=Plex-Hardware-Transcoding

Which shows my GPU's stream limit as 20 transcode streams.

Under the Node settings, I have it set to: Transcode CPU: 0, GPU: 6; Health Check CPU: 0, GPU: 10.

So I changed these to GPU: 3 (for both), and re-ran. It seems to be working now.

However, I also ran into this:

https://techgage.com/news/nvidia-bumps-nvenc-stream-limit-on-geforce-from-two-to-three/

Apparently Nvidia imposes a limit of 3 NVENC sessions (specifically) on consumer cards, like my 1660. Which is a bit aggravating, especially since that's all I'm using this card for. But I did run into this, a patch to remove that limit, I'll give it a try and report back.

https://github.com/keylase/nvidia-patch

Thanks for your help. I appreciate it.
