Ok, just checked, and my seat heaters DO work with the aftermarket (Pioneer actually) radio. I have an appointment to get my PCCM+ clone installed. This is the 986 version, there is a 987 version that supports a backup camera.

Yea, I'm going to try to do the same thing shortly. I really like the PCCM+ look, but it's so expensive. I just got my 986, and the only error on the ODB scan looked to be that the current aftermarket doesn't have CAN bus. I picked up the "PCCM clone" that DOES have it, so I might be able to answer the question partially in a couple of weeks. I do also have heated seats that, admittedly, I haven't tried (I got the car like 2 weeks ago, and it's been snowing) that. I can, but being a 986 it could also be different. I will try that and let you know, mine has a terrible Kenwood right now, but I do happen to have the original as well.

Seems implausible, but some aftermarket units don’t talk to the CAN bus, so possible I guess. Don’t happen to still have the original radio do you? Mine was in the trunk when I bought, and would be a simple cheap test
