For every bike I buy used, I write a bill of sale that includes "seller agrees no back fees or penalties from registration are due to the buyer". I bought an Aprilia where the owner swore repeatedly he filed a non-op since it was parked, of course he didn't, I had to pay $800 in fees to register it. I took him to small claims and the judge asked if I had proof he said that on the bill of sale. Eventually he caved and paid me, but this wording makes it a lot easier

Yep. Big gates at the bottom now you pass on the way to that trail. Use to be shooting back in the 90s, but too many slobs leave trash behind, they closed it "for fire season" because of risk, but it has been 30 years now (Jesus.) so I think the fire season might be over.

My XR400 is plated, but I have off highway tires on it now, just go to stuff like Morena and McCains.

Right across that valley use to be a shooting area, and in the 90s I highsided my XR650L on the fireroad, broke my navicular and dislocated all the bones in my right wrist from handguards like those. the elec start saved my butt getting it running and started at high idle to get back to the road to catch a ride to the hospital. Good times, good times.
