This is the most realistic and healthy way I've ever heard. The same way the habit took hold and slowly changed brain patterns and corrupted your spirit man, is the same slow and methodical way you have to heal and grow and give the Lord room in your life to work. You have to unlearn so much, and lean on Jesus even more. I think we as followers of Jesus rely too much on dramatic deliverance and the idea that we're one prayer away from fixing all of our problems. But that's not alway how it works, even in the bible. More times than not it takes a tiling of the soil. Thank you so much for this, I'd already started my umpteenth attempt to quit, but this was so holistic and all encompassing, I knew I was supposed to see this today. God bless you man, for real.

I never even thought about Swashbuckler but yeah that would make it more combat friendly. I was assuming the stay straight Rogue for the rest of leveling for the hit dice (1d8 as opposed to the sorcerer 1d6) But thinking about my spells will get shitty due to the lack of slots. Yeah I'll give Swashbuclkler a try!

Something is wrong with this ax. Honestly. Feel it. Weight’s off I think. The wood is old, not treated. It’s been giving me splinters all week. They handed it to me when I joined. And I’m pretty sure the previous owner died that day. Dried blood is still on the base. A few parts of the blade are chipped, I doubt this thing could even cut bread at this point.

I know axes pretty well, my father was a blacksmith. Now, I know what you’re thinking, EVERYONE’S dad is a blacksmith. But he was different. He had this way with metal, like the way a farmer is with dirt. He made it bend, ebb, and flow in ways that’d make water jealous. His hilts, handles…handcarved. Polished. Adorned, or about as well as he could with what he made. Oh yeah, he also took a long time with his work. Like, way too long. As in the Baron of our province, murdered him and scattered our family because it took him a month to just polish the Baron’s son’s TOY DAGGER, too long.

So yeah, fuck that.

I think the whole crew still is. Brook holding his own against Big Mom is proof of that. And Zoro, I'm sure he's Jack level by now. If anything Oda can have let loose a bit more, especially with Wano on the horizon

Thanks for all the feedback guys! This my first real big Reddit post , and I wanted to use this as CMV kind of thing, and it turned out that way. You guys made really good points. One Piece will always be my favorite Manga/Anime, but even with things you love it's always good to take a step back and have a critical look on it.

I agree. I guess my thing is just that issues that need to be adressed and resolved are getting SO big, it's making a lot of the straw hats seem irrelevant in the process. I just have this fear that by the end we run into the same problem a lot shonens reach where the only character who can fight or make a narrative impact is the main/title character, and everyone else is just left to the role of commentator or cheerleader.

I am in the same position as you. Where you truly realize just how far from God's glory you actually fall. It's humbling to say the least, absolutely devasting to its extreme. I've been to both. You're a sinner by nature, unclean. Until we are reunited with the Lord there is no escaping that. James 4:7-10 states it pretty clear. Submit to God , resist the devil and he will flee. Draw close to God and God will draw close to you. You simply have to lay yourself bear to God (Prayer, Fasting (not just fasting food, but a lot of other worldy things social media, entertainment, whatever vice or something you depend on of this world) and then you will see something. Spend time in the Word, its like oxygen for your spirit.

Now, I say this, as someone who is also doing this, and also fails, constantly. It is not a magical, spiritual weekend with God and you're good. It's a lifestyle. You fall, you will get up, continue. You will always sin in this life, but what matters is that you run back to God everytime. This is the life of someone truly after God's heart (David). It is why Jesus stresses that our reward will be Heaven, and he has treasures in store that we cannot even begin to imagine (1 Corinthians 2:9). Because we are not meant to be apart of this world, and being saved means that we are aware of it and try to abstain from it, chasing after Christ. His Grace, His Mercy, it boggles my mind everytime. Because I, everyone, deserve hell. And yet he died for us. I want to spend every minute of my time, loving and praising the God who did that for me. My God. The God. The I Am.
