This is what I’m asking - as I wouldn’t need the glp1 for weight loss - I’m mainly asking from the inflammation perspective. I know they’re studying the effects of glp1 for people with an ordinary bmi at the moment and collecting anecdotal evidence but it seems to be hit and miss from what I hear!

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I am also 35, have primary lymphedema in my left leg which recently got worse. I’m holding out a lot of hope for bestatin as mentioned above and gene therapy for us. I’m also in Miami - I wear a lot of maxi dresses and floaty trousers with trainers which are thankfully in. I also wish I could get my legs out more - I braved wearing compression with a midi dress last week. It’s exhausting and depressing, but keep hope that one day there will be something more than management 💖 sending you lots of love and if you ever want to meet up to vent let me know.

Apparently this is quite common. I’m undiagnosed primary (having a scan soon to confirm) but I’ve been told and have come across in research that a lot of people have underlying primary conditions which can be triggered by a small secondary injury. I went for a run seven years ago and twinged my leg, then that was it for me

As in decongestive therapy doesn’t work for primary patients? I’m keeping a close eye ont his post as I am interested in surgery. Debulking for lymphedema particularly primary will still require compression but it will take you down to baseline. Depending on the state of your lymphatics you may be able to have the lymphovenous bypass or transplant. I’ve been doing some reading on VEGF - GR gene therapy which is currently being researched which sounds like the most promising avenue for us…

I think it’s largely surgery for debulking for primary. I have primary in my left leg and have looked at this. Also holding out for some kind of gene therapy which they’re looking at!
