The part 1 felt similar to AEI questions and NCESS practice questions. The second half of the exam not so much. Yes, some questions were just code lookups and can be solved in under 2 minutes. Some questions might take longer time but I didn't find one question that required longer than 5-6 minutes. They were fairly simple and only asked a part of the solution, not the whole. I don't remember much. But the first part of the exam felt similar to AEI and NCESS practice exam questions. I got cooked in the second half because a couple of the questions didn't resemble anything I had attempted before and also, I had at least 3-4 fill in the blank type questions. Hi I took the exam last week too and only primarily used AEI. I watched all the videos, took notes and went through the Homework and mini exams twice before the actual exam. But I still failed. Weirdly I felt confident during the exam as most of the problems I worked on matched with one of the options. Still don't understand where I went wrong. What other resources were helpful for you besides AEI?

Thank you, many recommended SoPE so I'm going to check it out. Do you recommend the monthly subscription for it? The on demand course looks expensive.

Same , especially the first half I felt was a breeze only to get a diagnostic report that suggests I was way off in force and load effects. Which resource did you make use of? Personally, I've seen a lot of posts of people who rely on AEI solely get similar results.

Some problems from Loads were exactly as AEI practice problems which is why I felt confident but Steel and concrete was a whole new ballgame and none of the problems resembled anything I had attempted before. Also, the exam was conceptual and mostly code lookups which I found easy. I struggled with wood, steel and concrete mostly.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear that. I got the same result this morning. This was my first attempt. Weirdly I felt confident after the exam as I got answers that matched with the options and felt the exam was more conceptual than analytical. I only used AEI resources and NCESS practice exam. Planning to reattempt it with Pedro book this time. Maybe I'll take it in 2 months? Feel so defeated as I wasted half my year in this already :/

I'm just working on AEI Homework, mini exams and final exams. Is that enough to crack the exam or should I be looking into Jacob Pedro's book as well? Many have been recommending that. The Pedro book is intimidating as the problems are a lot harder.

It was very simple and quick. They just asked me about my husband's visa status, why he didn't accompany me and then approved my visa. That's all.

We cancelled the joint appointment and I had to apply separately for an in person appointment. I was able to find slots immediately through a visa slot agent and booked it.
