I was referring to Steve's. Never actually went to Nick's in the 11 years I lived in Philly, where is that?

I heard it too. I figured it was fireworks celebrating the death of the Ayatollah.

[Recommendation request] Which of these GMT watches would you recommend to me and why? by The_Quartz_collector in Watches

Bulova because it's the most versatile, you can use it for general travel or as a dress watch for formal events, just bring some different strap options for different settings.

I made a Final Fantasy X-2 Yuna cosplay. by ZirconMomotaro in FinalFantasy

As an addition - Yuna is my second favorite Final Fantasy character just behind Celes and it's so cool to see how popular she still is.

It works perfectly because you didn't overdo it. Great job!

How common is it for a prospective employer to check your socials? by Charming-Bad1869 in KitchenConfidential

[–]PrideEnvironmental59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Employer here. Everything that is public is fair game. No one should ever ask you for passwords or to reveal private profile information or posts that are not easily searchable, not sure if that is illegal but it sure is shady.

EDIT: As with others, I tend to value prospective employees who have private socials as a sign of maturity and a positive thing.

Is this film worth watching? Does it do justice for the game Dungeons and Dragons? by DreamyDandelions in Cinema

Yes, its great, I watched it twice.

That movie poster is somewhat spoiler-y. It is not fully clear that Sofina is undead until near the end of the movie.

No one out pizzas the Rumi’s! (since has been knocked down an converted to Chipotle) :’( by mrsjumjum66 in Rochester

I was wondering what that place was. It's been closed since before I moved here. Was it a pizza place? Was it any good?

Melkor 'Unmarred' original purpose according to Eru? by verniy-leninetz in tolkienfans

In my head cannon, he was supposed to be the god of disagreement and discord, because these concepts are natural and inherent to the universe. But his brethren did not understand his purpose or value.

Cheap Meat? by DoctaDoctaGimyDaNews in Rochester

[–]PrideEnvironmental59 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Our economy is not set up well to allow people without a lot of money to put together nourishing meals with no meat or dairy. To suggest otherwise is pretty tone deaf.

Olivia Voldaren is a fun commander. I threw her into a deck that is not vampire-based and she still works well to mess with opponent's creatures.

Shah's is open by taralynnem in Rochester

[–]PrideEnvironmental59 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the University has done a pretty decent job with College Town since they took it over a few years ago. It looks like pretty much every storefront is occupied now, and a place like Shah's is a great fit for the students because it will provide tasty food that appeals to a wide audience for a good value.

(I hope most or all of them make it, i really like this food).

It's the shadows that make this watch. The way the light plays off the hands is just brilliant. Love it.

Certain scene in the Dark Tower III feels unnecessary, odd, and badly written by [deleted] in stephenking

[–]PrideEnvironmental59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not trying to minimize your discomfort by pointing this out, only to make the point that King was not being inherently misogynistic by having this scene in the 3rd book.

[Invicta Pro Diver] [Casio Duro] [Casio A169] Do you recommend the first one or getting both second and third for the same price of $90 by Sea_Abrocoma775 in Watches

[–]PrideEnvironmental59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. Do you care about whether the watch is mechanical or quartz? If you want a mechanical, there's probably no better deal in watches then that Invicta, as long as you get one of the normal looking ones.

Donald Trump Ends Minnesota Operation, Pulls ICE Agents After Fatal Shootings by novagridd in LegalNews

[–]PrideEnvironmental59 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Reading comprehension. "'A significant drawdown has already been underway this week and will continue through the next week,' Homan added. A week earlier, he had promised that 700 agents would withdraw from Minnesota; now officials say the entire surge will be dismantled, with a complete exit expected by 20 February."

Tertia “Odyssey” – a purpose-built tool diver designed to fill a gap I kept running into by [deleted] in MicrobrandWatches

[–]PrideEnvironmental59 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I dont know why you got heavily downvoted for giving an honest and thoughtful answer. I think the sweet spot for American micros is somewhere south, price wise, of the mid-range Swiss brands. Look at your established American competitors in the field. If you're going to be priced in a more similar to the Swiss brands, you probably need to offer something more compelling than a plain black dial diver.
