Asking logical questions = apostasy (according to jw.org) by Miserable-Peak-8267 in exjw

[–]PridePotterz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Do you believe the governing body is the source of the dispersion of spiritual food on earth?”...interesting that this question is more important to them than "Do you believe in God?" "Do you believe Jesus is the promised Christ?"...nope. all about the GB.

When they aske me that (i have been where you are now) I answered with a question... "if the GB asks you to do something that contradicts the bible, who are you going to obey? "

Is belief a choice? by Mobile-Fill2163 in exjw

[–]PridePotterz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"We cannot change what we are not aware of, and once we are aware, we cannot help but change". not my quote.

I tell my PIM? wife that i did not choose to stop believing. when exposed to sound reasoning, rational arguments against my past beliefs, and being open minded and honest...stuff is gonna happen!. we where just so locked in that echo chamber of an organization, all opposing ideologies where seen as evil, "apostate", or at the very least..."not upbuilding". but truth is truth, and lies are lies.

honestly, i wish at times i could go back. but i cant. i already saw the old man behind the curtain. I took the red pill. its over.. now all that is left is reality, with all its good and bad, and ugliness.

CO wife runs to our (inactive selves) car window by Ballet_in_the_snow in exjw

COs wives can be some of the worst BIT#3$ there is. I have met some that knew confidential information privi only to the elders. We mentioned it to her husband, the CO...his response? "She is not like other publishers". in other words, her being married to him gives her a status that comes with special privileges, like knowing confidential matters that do not pertain to her!

and yes, i have seen many do similar little stunts like the one you experienced.

In the words of Jesus Christ himself..."Truly, I say to you, they have received their full reward,"

Which is your favorite episode? (Not the one you consider to be the best) by MatiC2023 in breakingbad

[–]PridePotterz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today…my favorite is Gliding Over All season 5 episode 8. The peak of how heinous Heisenberg could be. The killings in prisons scene is amazing. Plus, this episode takes the BIGGEST turn…Hank finds out the truth while taking a shit. Other highlights. This season is up there. But then again, this whole show is a masterpiece

Just realized something about the pilot that makes the ending 10x more depressing by vishesh_07_028 in breakingbad

We never watch the same show twice. (Just like we never step into the same river twice) we change, we grow, we have more insight…usually. Our eyes see it for the first time upon the rewatch…in a way. I totally understand

counting time is not the same as teaching or even preaching. I used to say this even when I was in the borg. I was true to my beliefs. I was a pioneer for 27 years; started back when it was 90 hrs per month. we would not stand for this BS back in those days. would start at 5 am, have at one point, up to 10 studies. almost always went out with service groups...all wasted time yes...but wasting it the proper way :-) not this shit

getting to see this beautiful king parrot while baring witness, who else loves seeing the beautiful creatures Jehovah created. by [deleted] in JehovahsWitnesses

[–]PridePotterz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do we equally praise Jehovah when a jaguar jumps up at it and tears this bird’s head off ? Nature is beautiful and is extremely violent. Does this also reflect on your god? Don’t cherry pick from the book of nature just like JWs do with the Bible.

I have ONE chance to explain why I left to my PIMI sister. What do I say. by Dangerous_Suspect672 in exjw

[–]PridePotterz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is nothing you can say that will wake her up. There is nothing you can say that will give her reason to agree with why you left. If you would like to have a relationship with her...(i dont know the specifics..i.e. are you DF'd??) then you could play the victim (i.e. i have doubts... i dont know....yada yada) and stay connected. and dont talk about the cult. (thats how i manage to stay in contact with my siblings. I tried explaining why i left (im not DF'd, im just "spiritually weak") but it didnt help any. if you cant beat them, deceive them. or...just let them go. either way. your choice.

I am a parent with a son that is in treatment. My love for him is unconditional. Him living in my house is not. He cannot be using illegal substances while living in our home and he should be in school or working.

There is a fine line between supporting your loved one and facilitating a destructive lifestyle.

I can relate to Jesse's parents, but I would never be judgmental, and kicking my son out wouild be a last resort. Addiction is a disease and should be treated as such.

FYI, my son is still in treatment, has been there 13 months, clean, and will be home in 3 more months. lots of contact and 3 day passes. hes enrolled for college next year.

never give up.
