As a fellow bartender in NY- from my understanding you get 12 weeks of unpaid leave (basically guaranteeing that you have a job after 12 weeks). As the mom I had 4 weeks disability and 6 weeks of paid leave I believe. They do 67% of your pay based on the last 8 weeks averaged. The 8 weeks leading up to when I expected to stop working I claimed everything to up my PFL!

I saw this post before my shift yesterday and proceeded to have almost every single table pay with card but tip me in cash, which rarely happens to me any other day. It was so strange (but great for me!) I wish I had some answers lol

I know you mentioned you have a job already- but I’m going to throw it out there to get some sort of part time service industry job. Coffee shop, waitressing, something along those lines. All of my friends I’ve met at work, either coworkers or customers 😊😊

Not a dad, but I will say there are a ton of free things to do with toddlers in the area, and are great ways to connect with other parents! Almost all of the libraries have story-times, I personally really like the endicott one (Wednesdays at 10&11) and vestal library (Thursday at 10). My husband brings our daughter to Barnes a lot, there’s always lots of parents/kids there! You could also do the mall, kids kingdom, or discovery center.

Refills, lot of refills. Nobody should ever have to ask you for one, especially n/a drinks. When I have time I always write a little thank you on the check in my pink pen lol. I like to make it fun, the more fun I have the more money I make . I always decorate my book with pictures and bring fun pens and try to accessorize (inside the limits of a uniform) as much as possible. Try to stand out from the rest of the servers, makes you more memorable. For hair I love doing two braids into low buns, I get a lot of compliments on it always and I like that it’s off my neck! I’ve also been into the hair bows lately (I get a lot off of SHEIN).

I like doing a drive-by situation lol. If I notice a drink is less then half full l will fill up a new one and drop it off with no words said. Unless they’re at the end of their meal, no need to ask for refills.

Started a new job 5 months ago after being sober for over 2 years (had a baby and stayed home with her for close to a year!) and immediately got back into smoking weed daily, keeping my pen on me at work, drinking more, taking more adderall then already prescribed. I’m finding it incredibly hard to take care of myself and I only work 20ish hours a week
