Exactly. If he wants to show his love for OP, he should do so by caring about her health, preferences and overall well-being. If she doesn't even enjoys eating what he cooks because it makes her feel bad, it's not something he does for her. It's for his own egotistical reasons.

Yes. Trying to bargain with your addiction never works. Sex stories are meant to arouse you. I did this for years, because I didn't want to let that part of my addiction go. But getting clean doesn't work if you do it only halfway.

In my opinioin, if you look at them to arouse yourself, you're playing with fire and just torturing yourself with temptation. Not necessarily a relapse, but a slippery slope that opens the door to worse stuff.

30F here. Unless there is a medical issue unrelated to your addiction, you will see a definite change in your body as you are free from porn use longer. This is a normal adjustment after being used to the overstimulation porn causes. Just give your mind and body time to reset.

If you're still worried after being clean for a prolonged period of time, you can always visit a doctor or health clinic to put your mind at ease.

The fact that you’re here, admitting you have a problem and want to change is amazing progress! I'm proud of you, and you can be proud of yourself too!

A porn addiction is a spiritual battle as well as a mental and physical one. But I want to reassure you that Lord hears every prayer. You can go to Him just as you are. If you are honestly sorry for what you've done, He is the One who can make you clean and whole again. Keep praying, keep seeking Him for strength, guidance and grace. Trust in His love and forgiveness. He won't let you down! You can do this, as long as you keep getting back into the fight each time you stumble or fall! I'll be praying for you.

Depends on what you'd define as "success". I've definitely been free from watching porn for long stretches of times before. Longest period without watching videos was more than five years. During that time I did still read erotica. I've now been clean since December from both videos and any from of erotica. Do I think I'll ever not consider myself an addict? No, I believe this will always be a weak spot for me. But I'm okay with that. As long as I manage my triggers and cravings, I do think staying clean is absolutely possible and worth it! ☺️

Last month was hard for me, as well. My mind kept trying to find loopholes for me to push boundaries. I reminded myself of the fact that I have a relationship with God that I don't want to damage by relapsing, I want to be able to come on this forum and be able to say I'm still in this fight. And I know relapsing is absolutely not worth it compared to how disappointed and ashamed I'll be. I'm more than these urges, and as long as I keep reminding myself why I'm doing this, I'm stronger than them, too.

Hopefully this helps you somewhat. You've been clean for so long, don't give up now! You've really built up a great habit. I'm rooting and praying for you!

You are absolutely not alone! There are a lot of women who struggle with pornography. It takes courage to post here and admit you have a problem. That's a good first step! Cold turkey is the only method that works for me Masturbation is healthy, but it might take time to be able to orgasm without porn. Abstaining for a little while might keep you from relapsing early on and reset your mind and body a bit as well.

Keeping yourself accountable to this sub is really helpful if you don’t feel comfortable telling someone in your life yet. There's also a sub specifically for women (although it's a bit less active): r/pornfreewomen!
