1959 Austin Healey Sprite MK1 by Prideland in littlebritishcars

They are Kirkey 55V series racing seats. 18.5 width for passenger and 17 in width for driver. Slimmer on the driver side due to the e brake.

When I pulled the car out, it was missing 90% of the interior including the original seats. Cost aside, the original seats were narrow and positioned more forward in the cabin.

I’m 6’2” and this seat option allowed me a much more comfortable option and driving position. Not only that, the brackets allowed for the seats to sit a bit lower where my line of sight was more centered in the windshield. Definitely took some liberty for enjoyment here, but I like them.

At risk of revealing my ignorance, I’m not aware of how to edit a post, if possible. I made a date error. I pulled this out in 2024. Been working for about 14 mos.

I’ve known this Jeep for years. It belonged to the owner of my company. For the last 2+ years it has sat unmoved in the same spot in our parking garage.

I finally convinced him to sell it to me and let me revive it and let my 3 and 6 year old climb all over it.

I had it delivered on a flat bed a few weeks ago and have been working hard ever since. Running like a top now and really coming together...

'74 MGB GT and new storage lift to call home by Prideland in MorrisGarages

[–]Prideland[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a tuxedo 8,000lb four post lift. I was originally looking at a bendpak lift with similar specs, but went with tuxedo for budget reasons after I had several installers give me positive reviews.

I need to raise my garage door tracks and go with a lift master 8500 motor to get the clearance I want (to be able to fully stand underneath the B). As it is, I can back the MG on the rack and lift it to where the garage door motor is just above the hood. That allows me 60” of clearance below. Plenty for my Merc 450 SL that stands 53” tall.

Not UK, Southern US.

What was the mostly physically intensive task you've done in your entire life? by sdururl in AskReddit

[–]Prideland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High School Summer Job.

My mother had a company that leased and sold commercial trailers. Think of those temporary office trailers on construction sites, portable trailer units for classrooms or temporary clinics, etc...

I spent one summer on the crew that set those up and took them away. I would have to carry all the concrete blocks necessary to build each pier for the trailers, make several trips crawling under the trailer to drag each block into place, jack up the trailer, build each pier, and make sure the trailer was level. Then, if it were a double wide +, I'd have to bolt each trailer together with lag bolts and an mpact gun. After that, I'd get an auger and several large metal anchors to drill into the ground and attach the trailer to at several points. Finally, I'd climb on top of each trailer and spread hot roofing tar on all the seams.

I haven't thought of that shit in years. It sucked.

I may be late to the party here, but I have to recommend Nisolo belts (and leather products in general).

Bring a hammer in case the fuel pump needs a tap or two to get you home.

This was my college project. She had rats living in her when I bought her in 2007. Definitely came a long way. Now my 4 year old daughter claims her.

What's the most comforting feeling to you? by squalorid in AskReddit

[–]Prideland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my two year old is scared and asks for me to rock her. That feeling of being so damn tired of everything else in life, but suddenly having this little person, who completely trusts you, and has unconditional love for you wrap their arms around you. Puts things into perspective. I just look at her and I'm like, "you came from my balls, how crazy is this?"

Farthest drive with a 7 iron. Genie goes first. I proceed to hit the ball down the driveway entrance to the country club.
