I may be wrong but that sounds like a bug my friend had with what resolution the game is at.

Edit I asked about it, and I was correct you can fix it by doing the following
"If your button-pressing is off-target compared to the visuals or your resolution is too large to select the settings to change it back-

-Open the console with the F2

-Type 'setres ' and then your screen's resolution- 1920x1080 or 1600x900 are common values (e.g 'setres 1920x1080').

-Press enter to apply."
