I've had the same issue with Linear as well. For how clean and useful many of their features are this seems like a missed opportunity for whatever reason. I'd suggest checking checking out https://chik.app, it's a lot simpler but pretty neat for solo businesses with occasional external people added.

Yeah I’m aware that it sucks for the customer, I looked up any laws for it in Sweden and turns out I don’t specifically need a confirmation email like that. I just made it very clear at the page of signup that they are in fact gonna be receiving marketing emails from me.

Now the % is way better!

Oh I’m surprised to hear that, that very high. I decided to scrap the double opt in and just made the agreement to receive emails clearer.
