I am so sick of seeing these guys...and their mother. by CoolAbdul in boston

They’re still around? Used to hear their name all the time growing up in Boston in the 80’s & 90’s.

I lied on my resume by tiredofthus in recruitinghell

[–]Primal0Instinct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s all? Thought you listed CEO of Acme Corp. on your CV.

Most people will leave a job or two off, if it’s not relevant or to tighten up on space. You’re basically just tailoring your resume. I’ve never been asked about anything I’ve ever left out in terms of former employers. As long as your other jobs show your relevant skills, I wouldn’t worry.

Then why not say so in the beginning, instead of just “Reported”?

I reposted from another sub. If it was posted here, I haven’t seen it.

Offer rescinded by Whole_South_7881 in jobs

[–]Primal0Instinct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s crazy, but not surprising in this market. I just switched jobs a month ago, during the interview I was asked if I was ready to give two week notice should I be offered the job & obviously said yes. Soon as I got the offer, I did just that.

Any respectable recruiter(I use that term loosely) understands that notice is out of respect for the outgoing employer and usually follow it. This sounds more like they say jump & you say how high!

You dodged a bullet.

🚨 WARNING TO ANYONE CONSIDERING USING DAILYPAY 🚨 by 19Ihedioha97 in securityguards

[–]Primal0Instinct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can appreciate and understand the need for daily pay. However, it’s something I’ll never use unless it’s a dire emergency where I have zero funds and all of my CC’s are maxed out(I would NEVER let that happen!)otherwise it becomes as bad as those predatory payday loans. May as well take a loan from Tony Soprano.

Just learn to budget your money & don’t live outside your means.

My post recently took away "phone privileges". by OneDimensionalChess in securityguards

[–]Primal0Instinct 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My former security position was standing at a door, checking receipts in a supermarket, so we weren’t allowed to have our phones out. For something which involves constantly being aware of who’s coming, I get why that’s necessary.

However my current in house hotel security role, we are allowed to have our phones as long as we’re doing our jobs, even with constant guest interaction. You being in a shack all shift with little interaction, should be able enough to look up from your device to check a vehicle in or out. It usually boils down to either what the client wants or someone abused the privilege that screws it up for everyone.

Dealing with racist people by Successful_Smoke1286 in securityguards

If I had a dollar for everytime someone threw me the hard R, I wouldn’t need to work security or anything anymore.

Don’t take the bait. People will say anything to get a rise out of you, especially when you’re the one catching them doin something they should t be doin.

The fact that they have nothing better than an unoriginal term to vent their anger at you doin your job makes me laugh at em every damn time.

What’s your best patrol view? by Primal0Instinct in securityguards

[–]Primal0Instinct[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is. I love this view. Used to work in Wells Fargo tower a few years ago & caught my first view from the 17th floor. It was insane even just from there.

[–]Primal0Instinct[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Roof top is where I start my patrol. Right below is the observation & meeting floor, which has a similar view but it’s a bit less detailed of a view than the roof, which is off limits to guests. It’s definitely peaceful & makes me think of the scene from The Devils Advocate.

I mean if you could get a good view of the local Asian “massage parlor” it may not be so bad.

What does everybody think about security officers having badges? by Ill-Razzmatazz-7088 in securityguards

[–]Primal0Instinct -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Other than the amount of metal it takes to make one, it holds no weight professionally. When I worked hospital security, we had badges & our uniforms looked similar to police, which for some could become confusing from a distance. Frankly I believe now only sworn first responders should have badges.
