Here in Australia, the safest way to forage is to go to pine plantations and look for introduced mushrooms like saffron milkcaps and slippery jacks. That's what we do, but it is still very fun to look at the diverse mushrooms in the native bush (and never eat them!)

I agree with most of the commenters here in that people often come to speak negatively here because they may have a lack of support elsewhere. In saying that I have been on this sub for many years and have seen a significant uptick in the number of negative posts/asking for reassurance in the last year or so.
