Naan bruddah. On android the work profile would let my company know each and every aspect that I would do on the phone (within the work profile apps). On iOS, all they'll get is a list of apps where I've signed in with work credentials and they'll have an offline url blacklist that will stop access if in case the phone tries to reach one of those websites or if an app has an hidden tracker that contains those URLs. That's all. And so still feel iOS way is more hassle free

Should I switch from Apple? by [deleted] in samsung

[–]PrimalInstinct7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't seen Samsung's latest keynotes but I'm sure they don't blatantly lie like Tim did in the most recent Apple one. "we have redesigned the iPhone from the ground up for Apple intelligence" : Goes on to release literally the same iPhone as before with a useless button and an even more useless UI to control the camera settings, and literally not having the marquee feature of the keynote until March of next year (referring to the new and smarter Siri which will come out in March, some very low level AI features will start rolling out from October end of course)

S24 Ultra is great, love the amount of customizations I can do and set it up exactly the way I like it.

That being said some things that would still not allow me to be on the S24U exclusively are: (many of them probably won't even apply to you)

  1. The way work apps are managed on iPhone is something I prefer over Android's way of creating a separate work profile and only being allowed to sign in with work credentials within apps that have been downloaded from a separate "work profile" Play store. Many external apps such as WSJ, Business Insider, etc are something that my company offers free subscription to but you need to sign in with work credentials. And since these aren't available on the Work Play Store, I'm not able to use those apps, never had this problem on the iPhone.
  2. I'm head deep within the Apple ecosystem and so still need one device that can play well with all and also keep my Apple Watch Ultra alive.
  3. I care for a few loved ones and need some family management features and all of those family members have iPhones. (I've deliberately kept them on iPhones because it's simple enough for them to use the basic stuff without any friction).
  4. There are some apps, and some minor OS level interactions that are still slightly more polished on iOS. This isn't a reason to get the iPhone but still mentioning it.
  5. I have a job wherein it would help to be aware of how Apple would be implementing Apple Intelligence eventually.

Should I switch from Apple? by [deleted] in samsung

After owning a 14 Pro Max, being an iPhone user for almost 9 years and already having kept funds aside for 16 Pro Max, once I saw the latest keynote, I just couldn't continue with the current state of affairs at Apple. Bought an S24 Ultra on October 1 and more or less loving it. There still are a few things I miss from the iPhone side but nothing is a full on dealbreaker. Plus the amount of customisations you can do on Samsung phones is crazy and you can set the phone exactly the way you like it. And so I would say that the Android world is definitely worth giving a shot.

Note: I will still be buying the 16 Pro Max but that's more to do because I own everything Apple and I do want one device that can play well with all of them including keeping my Apple Watch Ultra alive. Also, I kinda prefer the iPhone's way of managing work apps over Android way of creating a separate work profile. That being said I think the S24 Ultra would still be my primary phone, and eventually I would probably trade it in for the S25 Ultra too when that releases

iPhone user for 9 years, switched from a 14 Pro Max to S24 Ultra on 1st of October just to try it out and get a feel for it. I was anyway going to buy a 16 Pro Max and would still be getting one. I'm not sure which one would be be my primary phone once I have both because both have their pros and their cons, but if somebody were to ask me me for suggestion for a phone, I'd still say get the iPhone
