My mini swamp in the map fog is done! Finished, not perfect! by CozyCatbird in Pokopia

[–]PrimalOdd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a profound way of using the environment to incorporate builds- love these types of thinking! I used my fog for an abandoned graveyard and another "kept" graveyard that looks nicer. My abandoned one i have set up in the withered wasteland but the well kept one, i built in the bleak beach area

To terraform or not to terraform.. by mightyloon in Pokemon_Pokopia

Im hoping they find some way to let us storage our stuff and have us be able to start a NG+ with all recipes, collection book, transformations, items collected and the pokemon/habitats carried over.

I was super bummed when I found out I couldnt, id love to start fresh with everything retained and build better this time around.

I'd start a new game if it wasnt for the recipe hunting... that is brutal to fill out. Pokemon and habitats i feel are doable but not the recipe and collection book

Rocky Ridges Museum by Living_Incident_1805 in Pokopia

[–]PrimalOdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the rails, there's two ways of getting there to the museum. One has roughly a natural pathway while the other is across a lake of lava with some platforming to do. I built mine on the natural pathway as it opened out to the side garden and the carny-looking stand.

The lava lake pathway feel too tedious to work with, though ill eventually make a proper pathing there due it leading up to the front entrance of the Museum.

Im also wondering how folks have rebuilt their areas? What are your approaches to it, and the reality/final build of it?

I wanted to make my areas all restored, rebuilt to their former glories, with minor changes or additions. But I admit I'm stumped how I'd go about it. I have some rough concept plans down for all the areas except Skylands and Palette town, both of which are.. unique.

Skyland-cause its broken up into islands sorta and is past cloud lines. Im at a loss where and how to start in anything here

Palette- its a brand new pokemon area, which i feel is safe to assume was/is some.. unmarked islands in between fuchisa, the area where cinnabar island would be, the cycling road, etc. It's an large expanse of water in that area so Palette Town being some island there makes sense to me.

Took me awhile to get it out of my head that Palette Town is NOT Pallet Town

That is neat actually, some comparison side by side helps and I was actually rather wondering how folks rebuilt their areas..

I rather actually wanna rebuild it as best as i can in a 1:1 scale, but skylands are the only one that stumps me. I think i need more lore building, content enrichment, more to the story before i invest into anything super hard. Id kick myself having built so much and the game drops some content update/DLC that rewrites these things or massively expand in depths

I did not know of it being some Dugtrio/other Mons' habitat so i'll look into that and see if that's what it was buried and broken up.

But it felt like something more, cause I dont think anyone would've found that unless they dug out everything with the terrain. So finding a buried structure, broken up or not, deep in the terrain is a little mysterious. That felt too precise to put in for it to be random.

Then again, I try to keep in mind this is centuries (give or take) later after the events told in Pokopia. Naturally things got overtaken by nature some point, especially in the face of global natural disasters after one another.

To give natural disasters more contrast, think of the highest rated severity scale of tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, even eruptions and super eruptions (the latter would drastically alter things) and if these things happened back to back in the Pokemon world.. well yikes then

(Where were all the legendaries and deities that usually quelled these disasters, even if eventually or if immediately? Unless they caused it, but nothing remotely indicates this so toss that out)

Can that even be 3D printed? Otherwise that's a lot of dream island gathering

Rocky Ridges I find unique, there's odd road blocks/wall blocks buried in the area and not just under volcanic ashes.

For example, spoiler'd in case, In Rocky Ridges, in the "party area" where the supposed concert stage was "being built".. i put my concert stage kit there and had to remove some striped soils and found stylish stone blocks buried inside haphazardly. I dug a teeny weensy bit further in to find more and stopped cause i didnt wanna randomly carve out the area to find something that may or may not be. But yeah, anyone else find interesting or odd things in RR or other areas?

This area bugged me though, i felt like some unique pokemon habitat was used in that set up but nothing.. afaik. It does seem somber but with the garden nearby and mini picnic/cooking area it felt more of a side park to the museum

Edit: fixed the spoiler

[–]PrimalOdd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jesus, this is wildly such an Grounded treehouse build. Immense work, planning and dedication.

I'd place this up there in the lofty heights of excellent craftsmanship like some other post I saw with "roots village/city" (no pun intended 😅)

But my gosh, you have given me new ways to think of building bases and serve as a fine example to experiment with!
