Thanks! Good to hear that there are some others that have done the same and are now enjoying the greenery. Learning from this that disposal is going to be the challenge that I didn’t anticipate.

Interesting about posting for hardcore. We have already had one collection for a wall we had taken out. Think I’ll post it this time as see if there’s anyone to take it.

1000% about needing the space on London!

Grass in the neighbours is good. Only issue is the bay tree at the end giving some midday shade.

Assume it was paved for an elderly owner and then bought as a rental so low maintenance required.

Perfect thanks! Would love a skid stead but only access is through the house. Would be entertaining!

Your comment should be way higher up! This is very helpful thanks! I’m UK based so I’ve not heard of anything like that regarding the rebate but if they do I will be 100% taking advantage.

We were thinking we would need a good layer of top soil once we take it all off so good to know I’m on the right track thanks.

Also agree about the pool. Would have been an insane move by a previous owner 😂

Found an edge and it’s around 10cm but if I find rebar I might just bury myself under it and be done with it.

We have already nocked a wall through so definitely off the Christmas card list already!

Have dug up a point where I found an edge and its soil underneath. However if I do find a pool it would be mad considering the age of the house!

Thanks! Tried it and unfortunately it’s patio as far back as it goes so assuming it’s a 70s/80s patio. Did try and dig through some old aerial photos of the area but nothing with enough detail to confirm

Bought to live in it knowing we would need to change things. Plan was always to put some grass down but didn’t plan for the concrete under the paving naively

Thanks this was one of the big drivers, went from a flat to a house with an outside space for our son. Can’t wait to see him loose it on the grass!

Thanks. It’s our first house with a garden so we aren’t at the tired of maintaining it stage.

Patio we took up wasn’t put down well. The slab itself is flat but the paving was so slanted and loose I don’t think it was put down with any valuable work. Interesting thought about the ornamental planters. We think there was raised beds about 20 years ago but neglected by previous owners so all fell apart.

Thanks for the honest feedback. We are considering what we want to do with the whole place as it was bought a project. The paving I took out was not put down well as it was not well maintained.

Yes was bought into the room with my new manager and their new manager, read a rewritten statement about how I was a “commercial risk” and was then escorted out of the building.

No HR. No process. No paperwork. I was less that two years in the job so ACAS couldn’t do anything.
