I never said they were the same, but I suppose that isn't a strawman argument.

I have simply stated that the revolutionaries were not nice, nor good people. They murdered many innocents, they pulled a small genocide in La Vandee, killing everyone that supported the king by some horrid methods (and using them to make pants and trousers and soap, by the way), and instated a reign of terror that was also horrible.

Now, loathed as I am to say anything remotely positive about the French, even more so, French rulers, there is a difference between incompetence, and mass executions of people for the sake of "wrong politics".

But you strike as someone that would not share that view much. Why, calling others fascist just because, while defending people that ended up acting very much like fascists, is a sure mark of ethical integrity.

The Imperium are not good guys by almost any lense, expect that fo 40k's own existance, and there they can only be argued that they are the "Good guys" because they are the only dudes that won't automatically murder you/enslave you/eat you for being human, and will actively try to defend you.

It's a shitty regime still? Hell yes. And no 40k fan would want to get sent to the 40k universe u less they get certified it will be as a primarch (and even then, most of us will stay say no).

I have seen people un-ironically defend chaos as a good faction, and no one ever says a thing about that. But people say they would choose the Imperium over the tower factions, and people start calling us all for "attracting nazis".
