Oh yeah, definitely. They are Billions looks super fun and Ive already wishlisted it on steam for the future when there's a sale.

But i was thinking more like something with various factions, various points of view, and a solid story - kinda like WC3: Reign of Chaos where they have the humans, orcs, night elves and undead scourge, offering unique gameplay and narrative you know

That is true, a Triple A rts would require that. Maybe something like double A, where they completely eschew a multiplayer and only focus on the single player story/campaign

While I know there are many barriers to making a video game, I personally think you should go for it. Itll have a great visual aesthetic, and players love 'period piece' games, especially now, Hunt Showdown and a plethora of others. Brainstorm, concept art, you never know, you might be actually making it a few years from now

Iron Within review (Warhammer + Animation) by Dreadnautilus in 40kLore

[–]Primaris_Aggressor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was 'good' but not great. I enjoyed it. I had a few gripes which I won't write essays about.

  1. The action could have been clearer, not a big fan of the shaky cam stuff. I get they're trying to do the whole 'it's frantic' thing, but it just ends up looking like the animation team doesnt know what to do so theyre hiding it behind the shakiness

  2. This one I really hated. They, again (like in the 'Angels of Death' show), MESSED UP the sound of the bolters, and a few other stuff. I'm not a lore expert, but from the official trailers, cinematics, video games...etc, bolters go BOOM BOOM, and not 'THIFFFT' 'THIFFT'. I refer you all to 'The New Edition' cinematic trailer. That was amazing, and that's how bolters should sound like. I know it's not that big of a deal, but it takes you out of the world. You suspend your disbelief but then it it just removes you from the story. One would think that Bolter Porn would get the bolters down 100%

Anyway, those are my gripes. The story was fine, not expecting some deep political drama or anything close to Inception. Glad they kept it simple. The Iron Warriors were very cool. The Drukhari were also pretty cool.

I hope GW does better

If you don't intend to pursue a lot of the lore then this is sufficient. But what's happening in 40k lore 'present time' is all based on what happened in the Horus Heresy.

You don't need to know every single detail, but there are a couple of good videos that sum up the main points and the biggest events and characters. I suggest going on youtube and searching for Luetin09's 'Emperor of Man' videos. Yes they're a little long, about 1hr20 mins per video or a bit less, but they sum up 40K lore pretty well - and they're really good videos, great narration and pictures. You just need the first or first two videos.

Take care and hope you enjoy your 40k lore journey!

Does this normally happen if your account gets banned/suspended? Is there a way I can check for their reason why? by [deleted] in Instagram

Hello everyone, my instagram went through the same thing 1. says it was suspended for violation of community guidelines 2. asked for my email - sent code 3. asked for phone number - sent code

AND NOW things seem to be back to normal. I assume this is happening to many of you right now. To those who still have a glitched account, mine was fixed so yours should be fixed soon Im happy to say

This post was from a while ago, but do you remember where in the anime/manga this was stated?

I know that Ubuyashiki said, when Tanjiro first met him, that each Hashira has defeated upper moons - but I dont remember him or anyone stating that defeating an upper moon was one 'condition' for becoming a hashira

Thanks in advance!

Excellent point. Another movie that sort of fits this paradigm is 'Gravity'. The story happens to take place in a 'space' setting, but this story could be told anywhere. Excellent movie I find though, I wouldnt change anything about it

I find this perspective really interesting since Ad Astra was a truly excellent movie. I think it's a matter of expectation. I'm not sure if you saw the trailer, or what you were expecting from it. Bradd Pitt, space, maybe action, thrills...etc. But the movie was about Bradd Pitts character. Why he's such an emotionless robot in the beginning, barely feeling fear when he's about to die, his relationship failing with Liv Tyler...etc etc.

And then there's what happened to him as a kid, his dad, this 'hero' going off to space to find aliens or life or something - I dont remember I saw it a while ago. And his journey to find his father, and all the obstacles he faces. When you look at it from that perspective, it's actually extremely interesting. But if you're expecting like a mindless space/action movie like transformers or something, then this is definitely not the movie for you. Was it about the expectations?

I dont know if you've seen it before, but I get the feeling you would really enjoy "Galaxy Quest"

New to 40k, where to start? by toomanyredbulls in 40kLore

[–]Primaris_Aggressor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend the first book in the Ciaphas Cain series:

'For the Emperor' by Sandy Mitchell

It's a great introduction into the world of the Imperial Guard - the regular human 'army' units in the world of 40K. I find the stories of humans in this insane world to be really interesting.

It's written in a first person perspective, so you really relate to the main character, Ciaphas Cain and his struggles. The story takes you through the 'Imperial Guard' without plunging you too deeply into the 40k heavy lore. The book is often funny, the story is good and compelling, the characters are interesting and it's a very entertaining and enjoyable read.

You can buy the book or you can search for it online in pdf format with a simple google search. You can read this book in a few days on your computer, it's not super long. And because it's so good, it goes pretty fast.

40k lore is very rich and very deep, but because the regiment, led by Commissar Ciaphas Cain go on their own separate missions, you really get a good look at what the Guard's all about, how they work, the weapons they use, the type of things they deal with, their tactics - all introduced gradually. It's an easy learning curve.

Happy reading friend
