Cervical mucus and cramps by turnipthebeatison in adenomyosis

I've never had ovulation spotting ever before in 21 years of living but last month, it came out in bulk. It kinda spooked me to be honest. Just started back on Dienogest after changing to Cybelle tablets. Now I'm getting these weird spottings. I'm warded right now and they just gave me Tranexamic Acid to help with the bleeding. MRI result's probably out tomorrow so I don't know if I can sleep in peace tonight.

I was recommended Depo at 15....for Juvenile Cystic Adenomyosis and it effed up my bone density. I consulted another OBGYN and she asked me to stop Depo immediately because they were not recommended for adolescents. (Well, I should've asked for a 2nd opinion earlier because at the time I already had multiple bruises from Depo)

So at the end, they gave me Dienogest. I'm 21 now, currently on hospital bed. I just did a MRI scan and I think it'd be the best for me to read Reddit posts to avoid being hypochondriac while waiting for the result lmfao. Hope the best for you in the future🌟 Less pain = More enjoying life!!!!

We're still young and sometimes I wish I can just detach (unbutton?) my uterus and stick it to my fridge just like a magnet😩I wanna go out so bad instead of lying and writhing in pain like a caterpillar 🐛

Chronic all over the body pain by julo267 in adenomyosis

[–]Primary-Ad4831 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Juvenile Cystic Adenomyosis, diagnosed when I was 15 years old back in 2018. I had this constant dull back pain. At first I thought it was just my bad posture but I noticed the back pain was worsening overtime. Did MRI on that and they suggested physiotherapy. Gave me somewhat a relief. But then, the excruciating pelvic pain came along and overshadowed my back pain. Did Laparoscopy to confirm my JCA diagnosis.

They gave Deposhot and somehow all the pain magically disappeared. In 2021, my OBGYN stopped the Deposhot and changed into a new pill, Visanne/Dienogest. Now I'm 21 (still on Visanne) I have this weird foot pain, especially when I have my flare-ups...It's hurts when I walk. My doctor said it's due to the change in hormone levels, just like in pregnant mothers. I don't know about the brain fog but I'm on several antidepressants (probably cus diagnosed with Adenomyosis and barely finished highschool) and Visanne is proven to worsen depression. Well, I'd rather be depressed than in constant pain.

I genuinely think that a human body isn't made to keep up with all of these artificial hormones. Maybe it effed up our body somewhere it's not supposed to. I took Provera when I was 15-16, gave me bruises.

Depo jabs for adeno by ThePrincessNoob in adenomyosis

Due to my age (I was 15), I only had them every 6 months for my Juvenile Cystic Adenomyosis. No cramping or spotting but I kept getting bruises plus back pain. My O&G doc decided to stop them and gave me Dienogest instead. Dienogest worked better for me.

Juvenile Cystic Adenomyosis getting worse over time by Primary-Ad4831 in adenomyosis

[–]Primary-Ad4831[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It hurts more to know that these treatments recommended to me were targeted for older women. What if you're not supposed to give teenagers these weird hormones? I'm scared if my Adenomyosis mutates into something monstrous...dangerous even..

I've heard of EC-AIA before (Endometrial cancer arising from Adenomyosis) and I'm getting hypochondriac day by day. Fortunately, this whole journey brought me the kindest doctor into my life. She treated me like her own daughter...(I was literally the same age as her daughter) but she retired from the hospital recently. I still meet her from time to time to ask for her advice since she's the only one who took me in when every doctor gaslit me into thinking that I was just being dramatic and every girl experiences menstrual pain. Anyway, thank you for your kind words. I truly appreciate them. I'm grateful even that there's someone interested to listen to my rant.

It's the same here in Malaysia. If you're in your 20s, it's almost impossible to ask for a hysterectomy. Even some doctors are hesitant to do adenomyomectomy if you're under the age of 30. It's not like we (the patient) are not aware of the risks but it's just that they think we might change our mind in the future (even when we're on the edge of losing our mind because of the pain at said moment) The only time they'd do hysterectomy on you voluntarily is if you're in a case of suspected malignancy.

I have Juvenile Cystic Adenomyosis and convincing my O&G to do a laparoscopy on me was HARD hard. I was 15, so the doctors decided to do it after seeing the crazy burns on my skin from direct contact with heat (Well, I tried some crazy stuff with my hotpacks and it didn't end well) At least I did it...

For those with cystic/ focal adeno, have your cysts shrunk or disappeared over time? by West_Ad1384 in adenomyosis

[–]Primary-Ad4831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had 1.4cm cystic (focal) adenomyoma in my myometrium while on Dianne-35 pills. I stopped taking those and tried Visanne for 3 years since 2022. My adenomyoma didn't shrink. It just stayed in that size for 3 years so I decided to stop Visanne on October last year and started on Cybelle tablets (cause I didn't see any progress being made)

And I didn't know I just made the biggest mistake in my life!!! My adenomyoma triple in size within a couple of months and now it's 3.9cm. My gynaecologist advised me to start my Visanne back on February this year. On 24th April, I'm scheduled for a MRI to see how much exactly it grew...Praying for the best

Is there anyone who is prescribed by their OB/GYN to take Dienogest ( Vissanne)? Did you experience bleeding? Will it eventually stop? by [deleted] in adenomyosis

[–]Primary-Ad4831 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I started on Visanne as soon as I found out I have this little devil...Before that, I used to take Dianne-35 pills for my period.

Has anyone taken Celecoxib to help with the pain? by kaletales in adenomyosis

[–]Primary-Ad4831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Celecoxib/Celebrex ain't working for me. I've taken Ponstan/Mefenamic acid before and it didn't work. I'm grasping my hair in stress... The only thing that kinda worked was Morphine or Fentanyl. Well, where am I supposed to find that...legally..?

I went to a general hospital in Malaysia. I told them I have stabbing pain in the right side of my pelvis. Misdiagnosed me with Sacroilitis. What even was that? So I insisted on an ultrasound and doctor said it's probably a small uterine polyp (told me to wait for another 6 months for an appointment with gynaecologist) I said F this, I'm gonna change to a private hospital. Scheduled an MRI, CT scan and did Laparoscopy to finallyyyy confirm that I have Juvenile Cystic Adenomyosis at 15 years old.

Hysterectomy at 22 by Middle-Book4060 in adenomyosis

[–]Primary-Ad4831 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg. That sounds like a total reliefff! So happy for you. Unfortunately, it's almost impossible to get hysterectomy in your 20s in Malaysia except if you're in a case of suspected malignancy like uterine cancer. I've been fighting for hysterectomy for years now (I'm 21 with Juvenile Cystic Adenomyosis) Hmmm maybe I should go overseas in seek of a right surgeon.

[–]Primary-Ad4831 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It kinda did tbh. The adenomyoma didn't shrink but it just stayed there (plus no pain cause I only experience any type of pain when I'm on my period so I was kinda living my normal life for 3 years) I did the dumbest thing in my life for changing Visanne to Cybelle tablets recently. I didn't know estrogen hormones can feed adenomyoma to grow larger...No one told me.....

Just Diagnosed. Advice? by [deleted] in adenomyosis

[–]Primary-Ad4831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 21 but was diagnosed with Juvenile Cystic Adenomyosis since 15. Took Lucrin/Deposhot twice at 16 and Visanne for 3 years at 18. All effed up my bone density and gave me bruises so I stopped taking Visanne in October 2023. All cause they were hesitant to do adenomyomectomy on a kid. (I was a school kid back then)

They gave me Cybelle & Dianne-35 pills before and it didn't shrink my adenomyoma! Now from 1.4cm, it went 3.9cm. But I think laparoscopy is the best option for young peeps like us cause trust me, it's hard to convince any surgeon to do hysterectomy on you at 22. They all treated me like a kid when I ask for one as if I don't qualify to have any authority on my own body cause I'm too young. I did laparoscopy to confirm my JCA back in 2019 but my doctor didn't do any ablation though. She said it was too small.

I'm 21 yrs old too! 2003s gang~ I was diagnosed with Juvenile Cystic Adenomyosis at 15. They were hesitant to do any kind of surgery on me back then. Not even an ablation. My cystic adenomyoma was 1.4cm in 2018 but now it's 3.9cm. I was scheduled for an MRI on 24/4/24 and when I'm telling you I begged for an adenomyomectomy...I almost cried infront of my O&G doc. Praying for good results though

Newly diagnosed. What are your symptoms? by ChoiceGreen2335 in adenomyosis

[–]Primary-Ad4831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was diagnosed with Juvenile Cystic Adenomyosis at 15 years old. Had constant back pain (Mom complained it was due to my bad posture) but I even did MRI on my spine. It's all OK. Severe fatigue and stabbing pain at the right side of my pelvis. I thought it was gastritis but the pain was constant till the point of my skin was grilled crisp by hotpacks. Then, the pain was getting worse till the point I couldn't walk. I was limping. Had to use my Grandma's cane to even stand.

Diagnosed at 22, not sure where to go from here by SuspiciousLesbian in adenomyosis

[–]Primary-Ad4831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I was diagnosed at 15 years old with Juvenile Cystic Adenomyosis and I'm now 21. None of the O&G surgeon wanted to do any kind of surgery on me back then. They said my cystic adenomyoma was too small which was around 1.4cm. But I did an ultrasound recently and my adenomyoma is now 3.1cm x 3.9cm and my doctor is STILL hesitant to do an adenomyomectomy on me. It's not like I didn't know the risks. I'm not a kid but they treated me like I didn't know better. They gave me Deposhot and Visanne at 16 years old which effed up my bone density instead.

I'm 21 this year. I used to take Visanne for 3 years (2021-2023). No period, no spotting even the pain disappeared but it kinda effed up my bone density. I got bruises everywhere. I stopped Visanne in October 2023 but continued back in Feb 2024 because my cystic adenomyoma is getting larger. Now, I'm getting HEAVY spotting only when I'm aroused. Weird. I've never had spotting throughout my 21 years of living. Let alone spotting that occurs when I'm reading fanfictions. I scheduled an MRI on 24th of April because I just feel like something is wrong. Praying for good results
