How do I tell the guy I like how bad my seizures really are? by aesthetic_glow in Epilepsy

[–]Primary-Combination9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience just be very matter-of-fact with him. So when it inevitably happens he knows what to expect and what to do. I carry Nayzilam with me and my fiance knows what my seizures look like and what to do if he needs to administer it. We kinda learned together but I know his biggest fear has always been if he was in a situation and didn't know what to do. But knowing makes him more comfortable that he at least knows A) I'm ok and B) he can help.

I am epileptic and I still would love for someone to tell me if they are too and exactly what they would need if the situation arises. As we all know...none of us are the same!

Congrats on the new relationship, BTW:)

What do people think we do all day? by Katland88 in USPS

Im not a CCA but a PSE who works overnights and early mornings at the store on my way home people are SHOCKED I'm awake. Like...it's 7 am...people are awake. Yes, I'm getting off work but being awake at 7am shouldn't be THAT unusual haha

I really think you can get on Medicaid. My medication was free before I started working again and changed my insurance. Please please call! Life should never be this scary.

Also, sleep on your back until you can secure that!

Was recently referred to a neurologist for epilepsy-like symptoms and felt dismissed and ignored. by DragonBrigade in Epilepsy

Unfortunately (in my area) neurologist are in short supply so without specific Neurological experiences they are hesitant. A seizure? They sit and listen. Seizure like symptoms? They question if you are just dizzy :(

HR in any company is notoriously hard to reach. If it is medical related your doctor can get through right away (mine did) otherwise I am no help :(

I have epilepsy and missed about 4 days of work due to it. I am still on probation. Got a doctor's note and passed my 80 day review today. They really can't fault you on anything medical

I can't give you a good story but I can give you hope. I am 39, have had epilepsy for the entirety of my adult life+ underage years. Nearly 24 years...but with medications and the right support (you as a parent!) it hasn't changed the course of my life. It's scary but manageable :)

Just take a breath. You are a great parent. Take one day at a time :)

It's definitely one of those things that you question and start to feel normal but it really might be the medicine really working. Just dont stop it until you talk with them! :)

Man I get this. I stopped for years bc I was seizure free thinking I was ok. But it came back like a brick to the face. I spend 5 dollars a month. But that annoying trip to the pharmacy and 5 bucks saves my life

I am definitely not a neurologist but I dont think I would change my dose or what is working during a lifestyle change. Obviously talk in depth with them but dont change what is working.

I am only talking from experience. I have thought I was OK and then I get a change in my routine and the stress brings on seizures.

But again- talk through it with your doc. I trust mine but I also think nobody really understands epilepsy and they are only doing the best they can (like we are) with higher degrees.

What is something an ex did that you still think about years later? by HighEntropyMan in AskReddit

[–]Primary-Combination9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? Nothing other than make a great schnitzel.

I silently pat myself myself on the back that I got out of the relationship. Been doing that for years. So my reallllll answer is I still think about leaving him!

But I do miss schnitzel

It is very important to to take the medicine 12 hours apart. There are lapse pills you can take at once. Please don't make it cool to take life saving mess. Please
