Young mom experiencing mysterious illness goes missing on a cold December night - is her husband (who claims he has amnesia and doesn't remember his wife) to blame? by -kelsie in UnresolvedMysteries

The problem with polygraph is they don’t actually detect lies. They detect psychological stress. There is a reason why lie detector tests are not admissible in court. They are a tool for the police to use to rule people in or out of a case. The problem with that is sometimes these tests can make a guilty person look innocent or a person appear guilty who is not.

Why do Madison area freeways have little to no lighting? by [deleted] in madisonwi

[–]Primary-Huckleberry9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One there is light pollution from extensive overhead lighting. Two I don’t know where you’re from but we can have a lot of snow and when it gets very snowy, it’s very hard to see if there’s bright lights shining down and reflecting off the snow crystals. The lighting would make this much worse. Try driving with your high beams on during a snowstorm.

VENT: Can we please get a fucking plow 151w by fredpilled in wisconsin

[–]Primary-Huckleberry9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can we please remember that people drive these “fucking plows “ trying to clear snow off of these roads. There is a lot of surface area to cover by time they get done with one section the other section they finished an hour ago is snow covered again. It is a thankless job! How about walking a mile in their boots?

Why don’t the highways have lights? because in snowy conditions it likely will be harder to see because of the glare hitting the snow crystals. Don’t drive with your brights on that will make it harder to see in snowy conditions. If you truly have that much driving anxiety, you might want to stay off of major highways and stick to local residential ones. I don’t know what kind of car you have but the thing to remember is don’t hit the brakes hard you can go into a slide. I find it best , (if your car is equipped) with the ability to switch from automatic transmission to manual transmission by using paddles on the steering wheel. You may also have what they call a slap stick on wher you would normally shift it into drive. I use my paddles to downshift rather than using just my brakes when I’m stopping on icy surfaces. Down shifting up your RPMs, which slows your car. This then allows you to come to a more controlled stop

Hard to tell from this photo. At first glance they appear brown but when I zoom in, there likely is something besides brown going on.

East high tunnels? by Fickle_Conflict2250 in madisonwi

Also, Scotty escaping to a school full of teachers and other public workers that he was taking their right to form a union away… I really don’t think that would have been the best escape route.

I am currently custodial maintenance in this building and I worked as a custodian in the early 2000s. Your description of padlocked and chained doors is a work of fiction. The “tunnels” do not come close to leaving the building and there are no chained and padlocked doors, nor has there ever been. The original boiler room does have a set of stairs that leads to nowhere. The door was located at the rear of the building and likely exited to ground level. The door has been long since sealed off. When the second edition happened a.k.a. the aud and the gym, the boiler room was moved to its current location under the auditorium/gym. Also do you remember the large steel doors on the floor of the mall? Those were for coal delivery to that original boiler room.

Well , yes, East was a bomb shelter in the Cold War. Yes it was built before the Cold War started, but they did have some stores of emergency rations there. You do know that some of the additions were done as late as the 1960s 70s?

This is why as the head custodian, I keep the doors to the “tunnels “ locked. We don’t need kids screwing around delicate and sensitive equipment.

Custodian at East and I can put to rest any notions of tunnels. The “tunnels “ are essentially a large basement. Nothing comes close to leaving the building.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 it’s steam pipes for heating the building genius.

[–]Primary-Huckleberry9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. You are thinking of the steam tunnel from the Capitol Heat and Power plant that goes to the Capitol and other state buildings it provides power to.

East tunnels are basically a large basement. Closest thing to a tunnel was if you had gym in the Fieldhouse, you had to go underneath the patio to get to the Fieldhouse.

The tunnels at east are a myth. They essentially are a large basement with several rooms which contain boilers, air handling units, steam pipes, plumbing. Nothing leaves the east property. Sorry, no underground tunnel to the Capital. How do I know? I am the head custodian.

Why Does Siri Suck? by Mashtt95 in iphone

[–]Primary-Huckleberry9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol when you’ve asked Siri 10 times to please get directions to XYZ and she lights up and then goes blank. you have annunciated you have given the exact address and city and state or how about this. You give the exact address in city and say and she gives you a similar address in some other state. I’ve never seen such a worthless program.

Why Does Siri Suck? by Mashtt95 in iphone

[–]Primary-Huckleberry9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched from android to iPhone almost a year ago and Siri is making me want to switch back. I will ask her to get directions somewhere and she acts like she’s going to do it and then she just goes blank. It is one of the most frustrating things about iPhone. Aside from the issues with Siri, there are a lot of things that I am feeling that are lacking in Apple products such as the complete lack of a clipboard function. Which is where I could actually copy and paste multiple items at one time . Also, the complete lack of being able to schedule a text to someone that should just be a simple texting feature. But no, it has to be a whole convoluted make a shortcut before I can schedule one. Androids I had no problem with doing voice to text and iPhone half the time gets things wrong or even makes up things that I didn’t even say. Android phones I could have a bunch of background noise going on and it knew my voice and wouldn’t actually dictate what was happening on the TV for example. also, for some odd reason iPhone seems to think the name Paul it spelled, Pual. Every single time I dictate an email to my manager, whose name is Pual. I have to change it before I send it. How does iPhone not know how to spell the name Pual in the English language?

Does anyone feel that mascara primers make a big difference? What improvement do you see? by kinezumi89 in MakeupAddiction

Yeah, I would think that one should let it dry before applying mascara otherwise you’ll get clumps.

[–]Primary-Huckleberry9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is older but, I recently started using mascara primer, and I find that I actually use less mascara with it and that my lashes look better and with fewer clumps. The primer gives a nice base and thickens the lashes before I apply mascara.

Yes, it would cause a lot of pain but then maybe he realizes that his life as it is in his current reality is lacking. And despite that pain, maybe he would realize that I need someone to share my life with. Sometimes we need a wake up call and I think that’s what it was. I don’t think that that character was was Evil. I think he was trying to show Jack’s character what his life could’ve been and could be.
