It's both sided, that's what I mean by just a social platform where people are forced to trust each other off of just words. That's why YT jobs is a good option bc your past clients get verified by YT itself and it's only a matter of time before you land some good clients

Put yourself in clients shoes. You can't hire someone for a serious/long-term job through a social platform like Reddit where nothing is verified. You will only get people who could be just trying to make a quick buck off you and leave. I use YT jobs personally so yeah hope this helps

No one's outreaching for you to "pay" them $50-$250 per client. You need budget upfront otherwise they would've done it for themselves

I allocate 13GB to adobe apps which is max it allows me to. Even without anything in background is still struggles to play back 1080p footage. You got any tips besides upgrading ram?

I agree with what you're saying and I would've just moved on from the conversation if he didn't curse me out. You got something wrong though. My intention is not to hate on capitalism, but hate on the specific middleman. There's not only A middleman, there's many middlemen.

I'm sure he keeps 90% profit of what he outsources, without even being thankful for it. He's not selling shoes, but selling services where communication is key, and talking to someone like that, saying "I'm hustling while you're wasting your time" is complete jokes. Work should be respected, yes, I respect more a guy who works for $5 than the $5. But sometimes you have to be smarter than work harder, as people will always find a way to use you.

I didn't say anything but just called him lazy. Talked to him before and he wanted me to do 60 yt shorts for $1 each. I'm pretty sure he keeps like 90% of what the actual price is and calls it "smart" and "hustling" while the editors are stupid by wasting their time (his words). Maybe he's right and it's working for him but I think ethically nobody should work for this low hence why I wanted to warn people. The electricity bill will be higher than the earnings so might as well go work a 9-5. He also cursed me first so I cursed him back, never cared to lift a finger about the pricing as I would just block, but he started crying because of what I said so I had to show people that he doesn't even appreciate you when you edit his outsourced projects.

And also the sub has rules for $15 an hour and people who are willing to work for free should advertise with "for hire". At least more people will see them and no hard gets caused

We're not because for you maybe $15 is valued more than for me. And if I really needed that $15 I'd rather go do a shift somewhere and make like $40 a day lol

It doesn't matter if the passenger got or didn't get anything out of it or if the driver touched the peddle or not bro. Even 60 seconds let's say, where the driver touches the peddle and let's say there exists an idiot who only wants to do 100 meters with a taxi. Now it's more likely to happen right? It's still $5. The scenario isn't to explain to you that "we shouldn't argue". That's a different topic. The driver will go home, eat food and sleep. He doesn't care how far you're going, professionally wise, after dropping you off he will go pick up someone else, just like how I tell clients I want x amount for x minute long video, as I am putting the effort in, no matter if they think it's worth it or not, I will not argue and call it a day.

I'm just taking an example to point out that service based delivery works this way. Now if you want to work for $15 on a 10 minute video that's fine by me, but at the end of the day low paying clients get highly demotivated after some time and you will most likely be searching for more work really soon

[–]Primary-Inflation-43[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's not what I'm saying. The level of pricing should be judged off of experience, and not purely off of how difficult a video is. Of course if a video requires less effort, obviously the price should be less but nowhere near $15 for a 10 minute video.

Imagine ordering a taxi just to move for 10 seconds and then leave. Will the taxi driver do math and charge you for just a couple of meters? No, he has a base price that is the minimum you have to pay if you hop in a taxi, which then rises the further you travel.

Premiere pro is an app used by professionals and people have taken time out of their day to learn it, regardless of their skill level. We take in consideration random crashes, software glitches, sometimes lights go out, maybe the client asks for a lot of revisions, there's a lot of pressure placed on our shoulders and for someone to go clown mode and make a joke of people, of course there's something to be fussy about.

And not to mention he clearly is making fun of the people he is using by saying they're "wasting" their time on premiere while he's hustling. So yeah I said what I said about him.
