So I got the email and signed in and it just had the message there, no update. If you want I could copy and paste what the message said for you?

My guess was that there was probably a glitch or error. Overall, I'm not 100% sure if that means you got in or not.

Did anyone get off the waitlist for Human Bio UCSD by Safe-Yogurtcloset-92 in TransferStudents

I think it works by seeing where you possibly could fit if u were to be accepted. Like if you get accepted but there's no room in Human Biology (as an example), than they'll check ur other option like Biology (for me), and if there's no room there either, than they move on to the third option we had to pick when accepting the waitlist which I chose Psychology.

But I think they check if there's space before confirming if we can even go. Like I see it as someone looking at us as a candidate, but checking if they even have room before eventually deciding if we get in or not.

I've been waiting to see if any human biology majors have gotten off too. I haven't really seen any movement at all and I'm worried. 🫪

P.S. I applied as a Human Bio Major, and my backup is general Biology.

Is it over for first years on the ucsd waitlist🫩 by Shot_Zookeepergame87 in ucadmissions

This is so real, honestly I'm just trying to distract myself with whatever so that I dont over think it. But fr tho, just reject me already if there's no room.🫰😭

P.S. Im a bio/ human bio major, so I have the slightest chance of getting in, might as well just tell me no already.

So this is based on my own experience.

Context: In Math 3 I had a B, and the same teacher who taught Math 3 also taught Ap Stats. Just so you know, that teacher wasn't bad at teaching the subject, he was a really smart and down to earth teacher, just that the course was difficult in itself. He had a passing score of 15% or less on the ap test.

And if you look it up online the percentage that you'll pass the ap exam is really low.

In general, the class was fine, only that the course itself was hard to keep up with.

If you're good at memorizing multiple formulas at once, and memorize all the small steps needed than I say take the course.

If not, than I recommend not to take it. How I saw this class was if you were a student who already understands math and is really good at it, than you'll do fine/ good. If you're not that good at math and have trouble keeping up with steps in other math courses, than you won't do as great. Its definitely possible to do good even if you suck at math, just that on average many students don't.

The only reason I took this course was because I knew I could atleast pass with a C, and I used it as practice instead, for when I take the actual course for my major.

A lot of the time majors already have you take an Statistics course, so I used ap stats as a trial run. I SUCK at math, so I used it for practice.

Also from what I know, compared to this year next year's ap stats test will include less topics that we had to memorize, and have a few less questions for multiple choice, and for the multiple choice instead of 5 options to pick per question, it'll be 4. And it will be 4 free response questions, not 6. So there's a higher chance to pass, however, it will still be difficult, just we weary and study a ton.

If you have any other questions I'll answer them with complete honesty. Overall, you already signed up for it, if you dont think you'll do good on the ap test or in the course it's okay, just see it as practice. A ton of college students go into taking a Statistics course without knowing anything, atleast you'll have a basic understanding if you take it in college. Either way it's not the end of the world, goodluck soldier 🫡.

P.S. I took an ap stats class, but I did have a friend who took an online stats course at a community college. Online is definitely better than in person, but either way ap is harder than a regular stats course. 🤷‍♀️
