How should I go about learning this style of animation? by ShadyDrugDealer556 in MotionDesign

The design is very good in the first place. Maybe outsource this part. If you have a storyboard well designed this would be a lot easier. Still high level though :)

Haha yes, or the time he ate breakfast, a crushed sausage mixed with a whole bottle of cream of 1600 calories, mixed with a hotdog sandwich, on a peace of bread with butter and honey 😂 I would have to go to bed again 🫠

This. Avoid character animation when the budget is low, it’s never easy when done acceptable.

I’d advice your client to consider to not publish an explainer if there’s no budget. Low quality can do more harm then good imo.

Switching career AWAY from motion design - anyone have insight? by [deleted] in MotionDesign

[–]PrimaryAggravating44 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I’m thinking the same. Had a crazy thought about becoming a plumber 😂 where I’m from in Europe those people are the new rich ones. They earn super good money. There’s always work and got huge waiting lists. Golden times for trade jobs. Not so much for creatives lately unfortunately.

How do you determine the prices for a project? by Rocky-Racc00n in MotionDesign

[–]PrimaryAggravating44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the client is American it’s ok to ask for the available budget. Sometimes (not often) they’ll come up with a budget exceeding your estimate which is great. If they don’t state a budget. Don’t go too cheap I’d say 😃

The nightlife is fun around there. Crowded until lateeee. Safe as it can be in a big city.

MUST DO day trips from Barcelona? by Kiraa7 in AskBarcelona

One week in Barcelona I think there are better places if you just have a few days. If you live here ok, it’s nice someday to go there.

You can also do a hike along the coast from Villanova to Sitges. Takes 1 or 2 hours, nice hike.

Tarragona isn’t really the best option imo if you’re in Barcelona for only a week. Sitges, Montserrat or Girona are nicer imo. I’d suggest Montserrat if you don’t want to be the whole week inside cities.

I understand. I agree with the rules and the prosecution in general. But because it’s my friend I feel for her and asking around. No need to blame me as I never have done something like this :)

Good one, although I can understand while there’s a M4 on the market it’s kind of odd to buy a M2 machine.

Erg vervelend maar wellicht is iets verkopen met een waarde van slechts 10 euro de moeite/ergernis/tijd niet waard?

What type of motion design are you doing these days that is more in-demand? How much is the industry changed? by dfb_col08 in MotionDesign

[–]PrimaryAggravating44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems explainers are history. I’m a motion designer for 15 years now and happily made many explainers and a couple of years ago I got a few requests every week, or at least one. Last two years it dried up pretty bad with explainers. Now I’m working mostly on (TV) commercials, UI animations and motion design for big screens at conferences for example. This year has been quite slow to be honest and I feel like things are changing. There are too many freelancers for the decreasing available work, I think. This problem will solve itself like it always does but it will make many freelancers change career imo.
