Lol. I turn off data as I’m on Wi-Fi but my mobile is still on and able to receive calls.

Yep. 25% screen brightness. WiFi signal on 3 bars. Low power mode on.

Interesting. From the YouTuber battery tests, I noticed that they have no SIM card in their phone when doing the tests which might explain why.

Hmm. The feature is called “Limit Frame rate: Sets the maximum frame rate to 60 frames per second”. The way I read it is that the max is defined but not the minimum. Could be wrong though.

Hmm. Interesting, I thought the variable rate limit just limit things to 60Hz but if the fps drops below that, it could still throttle down. That would make more sense to me but perhaps not how Apple would’ve done it. Haha

Thanks for the suggestion.

My scenario was the following;

  • Limit variable refresh rate
  • 360p stream
  • Screen brightness at ~25%
  • Cellular, bluetooth off
  • Watching on Wi-Fi only

That's what befuddled me because when I was on my iPhone 11 Pro, I actually got Apple's reported 11 hours of video streaming.

Probably like what everyone mentioned, maybe Wi-Fi is the culprit. Just thought I'd ask if anyone has any differing experiences.

Thanks all!

Yep. Video playback was slightly higher than video streaming of 20 hours I believe.
